Hadn't shown much in point-to-points and judging by his 14-1 price tag, his win in a Stratford maiden hurdle came as a surprise to a few. No fluke about it though, and this track may suit even better. Plenty on here to follow up all the same.

Two from two so far (one bumper, one hurdle) and won with a bit more in hand than the official half-length margin suggested last time out. This is harder, but no saying how much more improvement is to come. Tough under a penalty but respected.

Only moderate on the Flat (rated 65 at peak) and not seen out for over two years, so although the yard often do okay with these Flat types over hurdles, makes very little appeal today.

Lalor31
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-0| J: T Scudamore| T: R Woollacott| BF
7/4
Improved in bumpers throughout last term, and finished off by taking a Grade 2 at Aintree in April. Travelled well on debut at Exeter and lost little in defeat to Ontheroadtom in a driving finish. Handles all ground and looks a player again today.

Useful at middle distances on the Flat (rated 84 in September) and looks up to winning over hurdles based on his short-head second at Plumpton on debut in this sphere earlier in the month. Needs improvement, but that's not impossible.

Bred in the purple and did nothing but improve in bumpers last year, and like Lalor, finished off taking a Grade 2 at Aintree. Won a Bangor novice hurdle pretty effortlessly on only start over hurdles so far and should do well again this season.

Forecasts

Kayf Grace (6/4), Lalor (7/4), Mr One More (3/1), Babytaggle (12/1), William Hunter (14/1), Dr Des (33/1), Breslin (200/1)

14:05 Ascot - 24 November 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

LALOR and Kayf Grace appear to be the pair to concentrate on, although Mr One More might have something to say about it despite having a penalty to shoulder. Both the main protagonists won Grade 2 bumpers at Aintree last year and there's little between them on form, but Lalor just gets the vote as he might have that bit more speed. Kayf Grace is a win machine that has done nothing wrong and will prove a hard nut to crack. Mr One More would be a serious player at level weights but may just find this a tough assignment.
  1. Lalor
  2. Kayf Grace
  3. Mr One More
