Finished down the field on debut over 7f at this course last time out under the same jockey. Difficult to see him showing the requisite improvement to go close here.

Scat Daddy colt who cost $65,000 as a yearling. A half-brother to a Grade 3 winner in the US and interesting to see how he fares on this racecourse debut.

Beaten 26L into 13th on debut at Newmarket last time out. Ran so green that there is surely more to come, but needs to have grown up quickly especially now stepping up in trip.

Well-beaten in two starts so far and steps back down in trip from 1m2f here. Difficult to build a case for based on what he has shown so far, with a 7lb claimer taking the ride for the first time.

Ran a fine race to finish third in a Newmarket novice event last month when not enjoying a perfect passage and looking like he should improve for this extra furlong. A key player for a top trainer.

Beaten 41L at odds of 66/1 on debut at Kempton last time out, and looks set for another minor role here based on that evidence.

Did himself no favours by the way he started on debut but was probably set for a poor showing either way. May not have liked the soft ground at Nottingham so may do better now switched to the AW for the first time.

Cape Cross filly who is a sister to a winner of a minor maiden over a similar trip to this. Well drawn but other newcomers make more appeal.

Failed to show any progression from her first to second starts when beaten 10L at Newmarket last time out. Difficult to see her stepping up in trip by a furlong here making the difference.

Never really figured on debut at Newmarket last time out. Her odds that day suggest there should be more to come though, and stepping up in trip here it would be no surprise to see her hit the frame.

Motivator filly who cost €16,000 as a yearling and is a half-sister to Group 3 winner Queen Blossom. Looks an interesting prospect on debut for a respected trainer.

Masaarr (1/3), Poetic Imagination (6/1), Cross My Mind (8/1), Winged Spur (10/1), True Destiny (16/1), Fire Orchid (25/1), Barnay (25/1), Daddy Tyrrell (33/1), Goodwood Showman (66/1), Highcastle (66/1), Seasearch (66/1)

12:25 Lingfield - 18 November 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Unlike the first division of this we do have a clear leading contender here in the form of MASAARR. Roger Varian's charge ran very well on debut to finish third at Newmarket. Few of his rivals from that day have run again since but the early signs regarding the form of the race are encouraging and he should be able to beat an ordinary-looking group of maidens here. If he fails to get off the mark then Poetic Imagination and True Destiny could be the ones to pick up the pieces.
  1. Masaarr
  2. Poetic Imagination
  3. True Destiny
