Lisclogher Lad13
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-10| J: R Loughran| T: S G Walsh| OR:  114| C
14/1
Just one win from 12 over hurdles and is 0-13 over fences after a lacklustre reappearance at Wexford (2m4f, heavy). That said he was a runner-up twice off this mark last back-end and should strip fitter with a run under his belt.

Horse silk
Black Scorpion23
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-6| J: Mr R W Barron(7)| T: J F Gleeson| OR:  110
9/1
Winning point-to-pointer, scored on rules bow over 3m at Cork (good) in April and was a runner-up in a chase at Tipperary (2m1f) last month. Respected on that form, though was disappointing over 3m at Punchestown more recently.
3
Horse silk
First To Boogie13
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-5| J: Sean Flanagan| T: Madeleine Tylicki| OR:  109
4/1
Fairly useful handicap hurdler, winning in the mud at Punchestown a year ago, and produced best chase effort at Galway (2m2f, heavy) last time out when a 1L second behind Hard Bought. Likely to remain competitive.
4
Horse silk
Fitzhenry13
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-5| J: M P Walsh| T: P Nolan| OR:  109
10/1
Lightly-raced maiden hurdler who showed first real sign of promise over fences when a 25L fifth behind Without Limites in a beginners' chase at Wexford (2m4f, heavy) last month. Opening handicap mark looks reasonable.
5
Horse silk
Persian Windt9
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-5| J: L P Dempsey| T: J P Dempsey| OR:  109| BF
9/1
Hard-to-win-with hurdler who showed a willing attitude to land a minor novice chase at Tramore last month (2m, yielding). Not disgraced over hurdles since and respected now back over the larger obstacles.
6
Horse silk
Shantou Edb131
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-5| J: D J McInerney(5)| T: P A Fahy| OR:  109
7/1
Useful hurdler at best but clearly had his problems, with gaps in his CV, and didn't shown enough in a chase at Sligo in the summer to suggest he'll be winning anytime soon. Blinkers now reached for.
7
Horse silk
Tongie12
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-5| J: Brian Hayes| T: P A Fahy| OR:  109
16/1
Winner of two hurdle race in testing conditions, but out of the frame in all five starts over fences, most recently when beaten well over 100L at Wexford.. Has questions to answer over the bigger obstacles.
8
Horse silk
Suas Siost178
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-3| J: C D Maxwell| T: P Rooney| OR:  107| D
12/1
Dual point-to-point winner who won over fences at Navan (2m4f, heavy) in March but fell next time before then pulling up at Punchestown. Too early to write off because he does have ability and a break may have revived him.
9
Horse silk
Red River Goldt39
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-1| J: D E Splaine| T: D G Murphy| OR:  105
8/1
Winning point-to-pointer who has been placed three times in six chase starts, though he took a step backwards with a poor run at Tipperary (2m7f, soft) last month. Dangerous to dismiss if putting best foot forward.
10
Horse silk
Coolbane Westp13
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-0| J: D E Mullins| T: W J Burke| OR:  104| D
7/1
Winning hurdler who was unplaced in three beginners' chases, though he has fared much better since being sent handicapping, finishing a 3L fourth beind Hard Bought at Galway (2m2f, heavy). Should make presence felt.
11
Horse silk
Black Iceh219
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-10| J: A E Lynch| T: J Feane| OR:  100
16/1
Not the most prolific (just 2 wins from 28 over hurdles) and he has yet to really get competitive in four previous chase starts. Not seen out since April and has something to find on his debut for a new yard.
12
Horse silk
Like A Demon34
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-10| J: Robbie Colgan| T: N Slevin| OR:  100
25/1
Without a win in 11 starts over hurdles but flashes of promise when fourth on his chasing debut at Downpatrick (2m3f, heavy) in September. Below that form at Limerick last time but not too early to write off.
13
Horse silk
Simple Steps23
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-1| J: Phillip Enright| T: R Tyner| OR:  91
5/1
Dual point-to-point winner has yet to score under rules, but has made the frame in four of seven attempts over fences. Stamina shouldn't be a concern and can give a decent account from the foot of the weights.

Forecasts

First To Boogie (4/1), Simple Steps (5/1), Coolbane West (7/1), Shantou Ed (7/1), Red River Gold (8/1), Black Scorpion (9/1), Persian Wind (9/1), Fitzhenry (10/1), Suas Sios (12/1), Lisclogher Lad (14/1), Tongie (16/1), Black Ice (16/1), Like A Demon (25/1)

14:20 Naas - 11 November 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Competitive stuff with the likes of First To Boogie, Coolbane West and Simple Steps having shown enough recently to suggest they should be in the mix. There may be more to come from Suas Sios after a break but any value may lie with the lightly-raced winning pointer FITZHENRY who hinted that this opening mark may not beyond him with a better effort in a beginners' chase at Wexford on his reappearance.
  1. Fitzhenry
  2. First To Boogie
  3. Suas Sios
