Horse silk

Cost €35,000 and wasn't far off repaying the first installment when third on debut over this trip at Lingfield last month. That was highly encouraging and another bold effort can be expected if he's thrived since then.

Cost €28,000 and related to winners over 1m2f. Ought to cope with this surface on breeding but needs to better the form of his two previous starts by quite some way.

Ninth of thirteen on debut over 7f here but likely to be better suited by this sterner test of stamina. Plenty of improvement required though.

9/2
Likeable breeding but appeals as one that may need a bit more time to develop and is probably best watched over this trip.
Modest efforts in two starts to date and big amount of improvement required. Hard to see him being good enough on the evidence avilable.

Slow to stride on last week's debut and never managed to land a telling blow. Safe to leave alone if that proves to be a reliable yardstick.

Well held 2f out in a hot contest at Deauville on debut earlier this month and hard to assess what he achieved there. The betting can guide as to whether he is expected to take a big step forward now he has the benefit of experience on his side.

Cost just £2,500 and yard not really noted for first-time out winners. Headgear being applied on debut also an obvious concern.
Cost €25,000 as a yearling and represents a yard with an eye for an opening in a handicap. The well-bred filly qualifies for a mark after this and will be an interesting contender when moving on to the next phase - probably over further.

Well beaten last on debut at Salisbury and difficult to make a case out for her on that evidence. She is a half-sister to winners over further so very possible a step up in trip beckons soon rather than later.

Forecasts

Exec Chef (4/9), Icart Point (9/2), Duke Of Dorset (8/1), Losingmyreligion (12/1), Trouble And Strife (20/1), Balgowlah (20/1), Ainne (20/1), Tour de Paris (25/1), Boss For A Day (25/1), Hackbridge (33/1), Molliana (66/1)

16:55 Kempton - 1 November 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

An ordinary novice auction can go the way of EXEC CHEF, who created a much more favorable impression than any of his rivals with experience, and the mount of Jamie Spence easily looks the safest option form this modest bunch. Boss For A Day might find this a lot easier than his debut assignment in France and is worth noting in the betting, while Trouble And Strife is likely to be sent out with an eye on the future but reaching the frame in this modest company would hardly hinder her rating for future handicaps over further.
  1. Exec Chef
  2. Boss For A Day
  3. Trouble And Strife
