Winner twice over fences this summer including when justifying odds-on favouritism at Hexham (3m, good) last time out. Races off a 6lb higher mark today and likely to run well once more.
Finished third in a valuable handicap chase over an extended 3m4f at Haydock (good-to-soft) in February. Stays well having put in a decent effort in the Scottish Grand National subsequently.
Maiden hurdle winner over 2m4f at this meeting in October 2015 but had just two starts since and interesting to see how he fares on chase debut having finished well beaten at Ffos Las back in April.
Successful twice over hurdles but held in both outings over fences including when fourth of five on heavy ground at an extended 2m at Newton Abbot earlier this month. Takes a marked step up in trip today.
Placed on all four starts over fences most recently when runner-up at Stratford (good) over an extended 2m6f earlier this month. One to note off the same mark as when runner-up at Ludlow (soft) in March.
Successful twice over hurdles last season and runner-up in a couple of handicap contest including at Doncaster (good) in February. Well beaten on chase debut a month ago and wears cheekpieces for the first time switched to a handicap.
Consistent performer over hurdles last year winning on soft ground at Leicester and running well in defeat in three subsequent outings. Improvement likely now switched to fences.
Well beaten in three starts since winning at Southwell (3m, good-to-soft) in November and pulled up at Hereford in March. Cheekpieces worn on that occasion are dispensed with for today's chasing debut.
Point-to-point winner and successful on heavy ground at Chepstow over an extended 2m7f in March 2016. Well beaten on sole subsequent start and switches to chasing following nearly 18 months off the track.
Forecasts
Ballyarthur (11/4), Vintage Clouds (4/1), Lovely Job (9/2), Perform (5/1), Some Are Lucky (8/1), Matorico (10/1), Some Kinda Lama (12/1), Nobuttaboy (25/1), Kit Casey (66/1)
SOME ARE LUCKY can put his experience to good use by taking this novices handicap chase for trainer Tom George. The selection has been running well in defeat over fences so far and with the step up to 3m likely to suit he can get the better of top weight Lovely Job who was a winner last time out. Strong stayer Vintage Clouds would probably prefer further than today's trip but he has shown enough to suggest he can claim third.
