Rip Van Winkle gelding, first foal from a speedy dam who was Listed placed. Trainer's two-year olds genuinely progress for first race so best watched on debut unless market says otherwise.

Hasn't really progressed over the summer confirmed by a modest handicap mark of 72. Others arrive here in better form.

Vastly improved effort second time up when third at 100/1 at Limerick (6f½f). Further improvement probably required but showed liking for these conditions at least.

Promise in both races to date, a close up fourth on debut before meeting the smart Kenya latest at Cork. Drop to 6f is a slight unknown but no surprise if he plays a major part.

€3,500 yearling by Lilbourne Lad, brother to ordinary 1m winner Bazwind. Dam placed at up to 1m4f. Likely need further in time so unlikely to feature on debut.

€20,000 yearling by Swiss Spirit. Half-brother to four winners at 7f to 1m5f, dam a full sister to Oaks winner Love Divine. Trainer doesn't have many two-year olds but often has them ready.

Improving with every run and has enjoyed a solid progression. Second of 12 last time out in a Limerick maiden over 6½f on heavy ground. Can continue improvement here and ground will hold no fears.

Hard to fancy following two second-rate performances at Naas and Navan. Vast improvement needed and others preferred.

Has shown nothing in two career starts at Listowel and Limerick being well beaten on both occasions. Others make more appeal for this encounter.

Rip Van Winkle filly missed the break on debut when beaten 7½L in a Naas maiden on yielding ground earlier this month. Others preferred on fillies second start.

Slightly disappointed up to 1m latest following a promising debut at Listowel. Now back to 6f which may suit better but would need an improved effort to feature.

Casamento filly ran as her price suggested on debut when finishing ninth of 14 beaten 9¼L in tough assignment at the Curragh. This doesn't look as hot but would still take a major step forward.

Well beaten by half-way in a Roscommon maiden on soft ground over 7½f finishing 53L behind the winner in August. Vast improvement needed here.

Not a lot to shout about in two career starts at Navan and Naas being well beaten on both occasions. Hard to fancy until showing any ability.

Slightly better effort on turf debut latest at Naas after long layoff following poor run in first start on AW. Sire Mayson's progeny generally love heavy ground and she could leave previous form behind now.

Disappointing on two second-rate performances at Naas and last time out at Gowran Park. Looks trainer second string here and hard to make a case for her.

Forecasts

Stellar Eclipse (6/4), Bronze Age (5/2), Castrogiovanni (11/2), Princess Yaiza (10/1), Tuamhain (10/1), Sagittarius Rising (14/1), Optional Necessity (14/1), Viva Italia (20/1), Bracebridge Hall (25/1), Face Off (25/1), Nkhata Bay (25/1), Take Action (33/1), Wavepoint (33/1), Feyan (50/1), The Bourne Man (50/1), Tea Roses (66/1)

13:45 Fairyhouse - 24 October 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

BRONZE AGE ticks the most boxes here. She ran with promise two starts back before an even better effort when second in heavy ground at Limerick. With similar conditions here it's hard to envisage her not being in the shake-up. Stellar Eclipse is the most obvious threat. He was second to a subsequent group-winner last time and there looks little chance of meeting one that smart today. There may have been something amiss with Tuamhain on debut hence the subsequent absence but she showed ability last time out and is capable of further improvement now.
  1. Bronze Age
  2. Stellar Eclipse
  3. Tuamhain
