Winning point-to-pointer, scored on ruled bow over 3m at Cork in April, may have needed last month's reappearance at Listowel and effort since over inadequate trip a Tipperary was promising. Claims.

Latest win over fences at Roscommon in May, ran a creditable third of seven in handicap chase at Gowran (3m1f, heavy) late last month and must enter calculations on that basis.

Three years since his last success but has shown a bit more sparkle lately. Respectable sixth of 16 in handicap chase at Fairyhouse (2m5f, good to soft) 12 days ago, perhaps aiming for minor money.

Gave good account in 2m4f novice chase at Tipperary when last sighted but that was 459 days ago, market check the only reasonable guide to expectations on return.

Four-time hurdles winner whose belated switch to chasing has seen him well held in three maidens so far. Nothing to suggest he can shake up the best of his rivals now going handicapping for the first time.

Winner over 3m at Southwell in June, before being pulled up on final start for previous handler at Newton Abbot (3m2f, good) in July. Interesting contender on bow for this yard with top amateur booked.

Gained breakthrough chase win over this sort of trip at Sligo in August but held back there in second most recently may find himself scrapping for place money at best again here.

Winner of a maiden chase at Clonmel in February over this sort of trip, was already beaten when unshipping his rider at Sligo last month and plenty to prove currently.

14/1
Former course winner, gained most recent win in 2m4f chase at Perth in August, has failed to complete in both starts over fences and hard to fancy on the back of most recent hurdles setback at Fairyhouse.

Simple Steps200
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-10| J: Mr R P Quinlan(3)| T: R Tyner| OR:  91

Dual point-to-point winner has yet to score under rules, but has made the frame in three of six attempts over fences. Stamina shouldn't be a concern and can give a decent account.

Esthers Presentt14
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-7| J: Miss S Ahern(7)| T: S M O'Donoghue| OR:  88
25/1
Lightly-raced maiden under rules, just the five starts, but has won a point-to-point in June and worth giving a second look to now tacking a handicap in this sphere for the first time.

Tailed-off on her three completed starts over fences and fell on handicap debut last time out at Fairyhouse (2m5f, good to yielding), hard to recommend.

Any money for King's Song, a winner over this sort of trip at Southwell in June, would be notable on his first outing for Gordon Elliott, who is such a master at rekindling the fire in just such a type. The mare Dorkas won over this sort of trip at Sligo in August and filled the runner-up berth there last time, she remains in decent heart as such and isn't ruled out while the returning Simple Steps could mount a bid if ready to roll. BLACK SCORPION ought to be much more suited now return to this kind of stamina test and, with just three chase starts in his locker (including a win over 3m on debut at Cork) has scope to offer more. His effort last time at Tipperary over a trip much shorter than ideal was very encouraging and he can pick up this prize.
  1. Black Scorpion
  2. Dorkas
  3. King's Song
