Plato's Kodep,t13
Age: 3|  Weight: 11-12| J: James Bowen(7)| T: S Durack| OR:  107| BF| D
5/4
Arrives in tremendous form after wins at Market Rasen and Worcester in August and a narrow defeat at Huntingdon last time, all on good ground and at around this trip. Tries to concede weight to all comers and should make a good fist of doing so.
2
Horse silk
9/1
Scored on debut at Hexham in August, though the form of that does not look strong, while he has not covered himself in glory on the Flat since. Looks in need of improvement, expecially in trying to successfully concede weight to all but one.
3
Horse silk
Amadeus Roxp18
Age: 3|  Weight: 10-12| J: Wayne Hutchinson| T: A King| OR:  111
11/4
56-rated Flat maiden, who shaped as though this might be more his game when beaten just ¾L on his hurdling debut at Newton Abbot (2m1f, good to soft) in July. Ran equally well in a slightly better race last time and has claims here.
Won a Flat handicap at Beverley (1m4f, good to firm) in the spring from a mark of 56 for Roger Fell. Form has tailed off since, as well as change of yards. Now makes his hurdling debut and a market check is suggested.

Horse silk
14/1
Has been steadily improving on the Flat (rated 72) despite remaining a maiden and was twice runner-up over 1m1f (good to soft) in maidens during August. Heavy ground probably against him last time and he is an interesting debutante.

Horse silk
Mangata141
Age: 3|  Weight: 10-12| J: Thomas Dowson(5)| T: P A Kirby
25/1
Not beaten far on a couple of occasions over 1m2f and 1m4f on the Flat when trained in France and now has his first start for this yard/over hurdles. Should stay and a market check is suggested to gauge any confidence in his chance.
7
Horse silk
Midnight Man29
Age: 3|  Weight: 10-12| J: Sean Quinlan| T: K R Burke
40/1
Yet to win a race from 11 attempts on the Flat, where he has made the frame just once at Southwell (1m, AW) from a mark of 63. Will probably see out this trip, though unless the market speaks in his favour he looks best watched on his hurdles debut.
8
Horse silk
40/1
Another 11-race Flat maiden, who has a current rating of 57 on the level. Has not seen out 1m4f when tried and his best efforts have been over 1m, so if this proves to be a genuine gallop, he has stamina to prove in addition to hurdling ability.
9
Horse silk
100/1
Well beaten in all four starts on the Flat, the last two over 1m2f/1m4½f, nd he is rated just 48 in that sphere. That gives him plenty to find on this hurdling introduction and others makes more appeal this time.
10
Horse silk
Steel Helmet18
Age: 3|  Weight: 10-12| J: Danny Cook| T: B Ellison
33/1
A third runner in the field who is 0-11 so far, having finished second in a 1m AW handicap at Newcastle in June from a mark of 59. Well beaten (32L) on his Market Rasen hurdles debut last month and needs a lot of improvement on that.
11
Horse silk
20/1
0-10 on the Flat, though went very close to breaking his duck at both Redcar (1m2f, good to firm) and Hamilton (1m1f, good) in the spring from a mark of 61. Not as good since and tries hurdling over a trip that he should get. Market check advised.
12
Horse silk
12/1
Has done better since switching to hurdling on her last two starts, particularly when a neck runner-up at Hexham last time (2m, good). If she can make further improvement then she should be thereabouts again today.

Forecasts

Plato's Kode (5/4), Amadeus Rox (11/4), Something Brewing (9/1), Satis House (12/1), Haroon (14/1), American Craftsman (16/1), Tread Lightly (20/1), Mangata (25/1), Steel Helmet (33/1), Mister Moosah (40/1), Midnight Man (40/1), Quiet Weekend (100/1)

14:10 Wetherby - 18 October 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Notebooks at the ready for this juvenile contest where the suggestion is AMADEUS ROX, who has shown some promise and might prove good enough this time. Haroon is rated a fair bit better on the Flat and could go very well, while Tread Lightly and Satis House are others with claims. Plato's Kode is not underestimated, though relatively speaking this looks a tougher assignment for fellow debut winner Something Brewing.
  1. Amadeus Rox
  2. Haroon
  3. Satis House
