Just the one win from 14 turf starts, which arrived in August 2015, has run some solid races since returned from long absence with this yard, though can often be slowly away. Runner-up over C&D in August, first-time cheekpieces on now.

Had some of these behind when winning last time out at Chester, a return to form, three time C&D winner in the past also and must be factored in dropped in class despite 6lb penalty.

Scored at Beverley in May (7½f, good to firm) and run some promising races since though there have to be question marks if soft remains in the going description.

Filly got off the mark for this yard at Nottingham in August (6f, heavy) though she has rather lost her way a bit since in five further runs. Reproduction of that winning effort would see her right in the mix.

First-time blinkers (retained) failed to have positive impact over 6f at Ripon (soft) late last month, no certainty that this extra furlong will bring about a change in fortune.

Sole career success came in low-grade Southwell (AW) handicap in January, scoring emphatically, not exactly consistent on turf since but best efforts this summer would give filly an each-way shout.

Lightly-raced filly has improved on AW lately for step up in trip, winning over this trip at Southwell and just edged out at Newcastle in follow-up attempt over 1m. Must translate that improved form to turf off career-high rating.

Inconsistent sort who has gone more than two years without a win. One to treat with caution on recent efforts, drops down in trip.

Doesn't mind soft conditions, although a sound/fast surface appears to be his preference. Won here last year but looks to be slowing down now, beaten more than 15L over C&D a week ago (good to soft).

Surprise winner of a Class 6 event over C&D a week ago, sent off 18/1 and won gamely, but flopped three days later at Ayr (1m, heavy) having raced keenly in front. Big ask on these terms.

Forecasts

Gabrial The Tiger (2/1), Roaring Forties (5/2), Fine Example (6/1), So It's War (7/1), Seaview (12/1), Danish Duke (16/1), Lexington Sky (18/1), Mimic's Memory (20/1), Circuitous (25/1), Let Right Be Done (33/1)

16:20 Musselburgh - 16 October 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Mimic's Memory has improved on the AW lately and is fancied to go close if now transferring that improvement to this surfrace. However, the vote rests with recent Chester scorer GABRIAL THE TIGER, who has been given a clear chance to defy the handicapper with a good bit of placement by Richard Fahey. Roaring Forties is respected though a tendency to begin slowly tapers enthusiasm while Lexington Sky can get involved if she finds the sort of form that carried her to Nottingham success in August.
  1. Gabrial The Tiger
  2. Mimic's Memory
  3. Roaring Forties
