Hasn't lived up to his Kempton winning form in his last three runs when he made a winning handicap debut over 6f. All three runs since have come on turf and he may well be better back on the AW where he is 1/1 or a try over further.

Makes her handicap debut having shown some ability in minor events with her best performance coming over 7f. Ridden far too aggressively last time out at Beverley and may appreciate a more conservative ride; wide draw not ideal.

Showed a little progression from his debut on his second start but failed to put that experience to good use last time out when trying 6f for the first time. Now steps into handicap company for the first time with headgear (visor) going on for the first time.

Speedy sort who stepped back to 5f when making her handicap debut at Brighton but failed to improve for a switch to that sphere. Hampered last time out at Wolverhampton back over 6f she doesn't make any immediate appeal here.

Looked one for the longer term and regressed from his debut when trained in Ireland and there was an element of an introductory run on his first start for this yard over 6f at Yarmouth. Finished down the field (not knocked around) and of interest for this type of affair.

His second run was certainly an improvement on his debut but he failed to build on that run last time and was never dangerous. The yard has had a poor year with their juveniles overall and hopes are pinned on a return to 6f and handicapping for this one.

Did best of the newcomers on debut to finish 4th at Beverley over 5f but has so far failed to show anything approaching that sort of form in two runs since. She was well below form last time and no goes handicapping with doubts surrounding her form.

Has a mixed pedigree but it looks as though he more of a stayer than a sprinter and shaped that way last time over 6f on his handicap debut on the AW. Dropped 3lb for that initial effort and now with blinkers on for the first time back on turf.

Has looked so far as though she is struggling to see out the 7f she's run over and this move back to 6f may help. Goes into a handicap for the first time and well drawn to exploit any speed she can show if with cheekpieces going on for the first time.

Overall poor so far with only the middle run of his three looking as though it showed much ability but will find life easier in handicaps (makes his debut). Blinkers go on for the first time and there may be a better performance in him yet.

A wide draw and a relatively stiff mark look to make this a tough gig for him on his second start in this sphere. Wasn't ideally placed on his handicap debut on the AW and now returns to turf for the first time since his debut.

Just about the most experienced of these this will be her 5th start in a handicap and her second over 6f. Didn't get a clear run last time out at Wolverhampton but overall her form is only satisfactory and not progressive as it would need to be here.

Forecasts

Zizum (7/2), W G Grace (5/1), Sienna Says (15/2), Gorse (8/1), Peter Leonard (8/1), Forest Dragon (10/1), Llamrei (12/1), Fortunate Vision (14/1), Poppy Walton (16/1), Duke Of Freedom (16/1), El Bertie (18/1), Ben My Chree (66/1)

A rather mixed bag with plenty making their debuts in handicap company and it looks as though it may well be best to side with one of those. The most likely candidate is ZIZUM who despite the wide draw may well be the type to proper in this company after showing promise on his debut for the yard last time out. Forest Dragon has been struggling to see out 7f but this sharp 6f may well help her and she is well drawn in the inside box. W G Grace can’t be written off easily although he might be better on the AW (only win came on Polytrack) and with the blinkers going on for the first-time it would be foolish to rule out better from Peter Leonard. Poppy Walton could also be thrown into the mix despite the draw not being ideal but she has shown ability in minor events so far.
  1. Zizum
  2. Forest Dragon
  3. Peter Leonard
