Handles some cut, although all four wins have been on a sound/fast surface. Dropped 1lb going into this and is also stepped up in trip. Not ruled out completely, as dam won over almost this far and so he could find a bit of improvement.

Put together back-to-back wins at Wolverhampton over a similar trip last December, but held by the handicapper since. Still 4lb above the latter of those successes and will probably find a few too good.

Sole success was over 1m (heavy) at Haydock last year in maiden company, but has so far been unable to answer the handicapper in the affirmative. Sees out further than this and has now been given a sniff by the assessor, so might go well at a price.

C&D winner who also won over a different trip here on soft ground. Added two more wins over this trip at Ayr in the summer. 3lb higher than the latter and went well over further last time out. Claims.

Has won seven times, shared between York, Ripon and Haydock, so a long galloping straight suits him, as does this trip and good to soft ground. However, no success for two years now and blinkers will need to be effective to end the drought.

Races over his optimum trip, and although he had run well with cut in the ground, his wins have been in better conditions. However, he did the job well at Epsom last time and a 5lb rise might be within his compass.

Took several attempts prior to breaking his duck in a Catterick maiden (7f, good to firm) in May. Since well beaten in handicaps at Chester and Chelmsford and on that evidence a 2lb drop looks insufficient going into this.

Both of his wins have been over this trip at Goodwood, including on good to soft, and he goes into this 2lb higher than the more recent one. Held from this mark last time and although he could get competitive, he will need to raise the bar to win.

Has been runner-up in a couple of maidens, including over this trip on good to soft at Goodwood, but yet to get her nose in front. Makes her handicap debut in this from what looks no more than a fair mark, but a market check is very much advised.

Landed an Ayr maiden on his second start last season, but the handicapper's assessment of his abilities has not tied in with what he has since produced. Sliding in the weights as a result and stepped up in trip here, with a watching brief advised.

Seems to handle any ground and has so far gone best at this trip, winning twice already this season. Well held by the handicapper from a mark of 76 after her latest win, but went well last time (heavy) from just 1lb lower. Not ruled out.

Scored over 1m (good to firm) at Thirsk in July from 4lb lower and was only 2L adrift at York (1m1f, good) next time despite a 6lb penalty. Off the boil since, but headgear now reached for and he is far from written off.

Stepped up successfully to this trip at Leicester (good to soft) last time, when staying on well to nab the race close to home. Raised 5lb for that and now in a better contest, he is not ruled out, though he has so far only scored in Class 6 events.

Ran up a four-timer over 1m1f-1m4f in the summer, including on soft, rising 21lb in the handicap. Well held on his last two starts from this mark, however, and he may have to wait for a slide in the weights before his next success.

Long distance traveller Meccabah is an interesting handicap newcomer and a market check is strongly advised to gauge any stable confidence in her, though the suggestion is DREAM MACHINE, whose win last time suggested that he can defy a 5lb rise. Maulesden May also looks capable of being a contender, while Breanski is not ruled out if the headgear is effective.
