Returns to turf after a period spent racing on Kempton's Polytrack. Claims if transferring the improvement she has shown there onto the grass off the same mark.

Only 3lb higher than at the time of her last victory at Newmarket in July in similar conditions, but this looks more competitive and she'll need to put in an impressive performance to go close from her draw.

Has recorded two victories this year and hasn't been in bad form generally, but all his best efforts have been on quick ground so the likely going has to be a concern.

Hat-trick seeker who has shown improvement over 5f recently but has won over this trip in the past as well. Up 6lb but seems to be a leading contender with this top jockey back in the saddle.

Hinted at a revival the last twice, though he remains a long way short of his best he looks very well treated if able to continue his recent good run of form. Trip/ground fine.

C&D winner who hasn't been at her best so far this year but was slightly more impressive at Newmarket last time when just behind Ninjago. Not discounted off the same mark.

Form figures of two wins and a second so far are impressive, but another 6lb rise could prove tough for a filly having only the fourth run of her life. However, she is also the least exposed contender in the field.

Carries a 6lb penalty for a victory at Redcar last time out. Handles soft ground well but he hasn't won off a mark this high since the beginning of his handicap mark when running to a higher level.

Two wins this year have come on Southwell's Fibresand surface, but he has shown he has ability on turf in the past as well. He could go well off a 5lb lower mark on grass than on the all-weather.

Soft ground seemed to suit when winning at Goodwood last time out, carries a penalty here but can't be totally ruled out if able to produce a similar performance.

Has shown a liking for a softer surface in the past which should be what she tackles here, but she needs to show much more then when beaten over 8L on both of her last two starts.

C&D winner earlier in the season who seems to have struggled with a higher mark since going up in the weights for that victory. Best watched once again on this occasion.

Only victory to date has come on the Fibresand which should be a concern given the unique nature of that surface, and she is best watched given her performance in selling company last time out.

17:05 Nottingham - 4 October 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A few of these arrive here off the back of encouraging seasons, none more so than PENNY POT LANE. This filly is drawn well in stall 1 and has placed in all of her last five runs, winning two of them. Despite inevitably going up in the weights she ran well off this mark last time out and should have further progression in her. This is a competitive race though, where the main dangers may be Tricky Dicky, who could take advantage of a lower turf mark after some good efforts on the all-weather, and Maid In India, who faces her toughest assignment to date here but is also the least exposed horse in the field by a considerable distance.
  1. Penny Pot Lane
  2. Tricky Dicky
