Beaten ½L by subsequent winner Canford's Joy on debut at Carlisle last month (6f good to soft), but was unable to back that effort up when trying a longer trip (1m) next time at the same track (heavy).
Well beaten on debut at Beverley in mid April (ninth of 12 to Bengali Boys) and has been absent from the track since. Returns as a gelding and tries softer ground underfoot. Stablemate of Balmec.
Unraced 8,000 gns yearling by Henrythenavigator out of Millistar. Sixth foal and a half-brother to four winners including Syncopate and Familliarity.
Finished fifth of 12 to Air Raid at Thirsk (7f soft) on debut earlier this month, but shaped as though that experience wouldn't be lost on him. Needs to return stronger, but whilst this track should suit, the shorter trip might not.
Always in the rear and never competitive on debut at Catterick earlier in the month (6f good to soft) when finishing seventh of eight to Captain Jameson.
Finished last of 13 to Claudine on debut at Lingfield earlier this month (7f good to soft), and it goes without saying that she needs to make significant strides forward if she is to be involved in the finish this afternoon.

With perhaps the exception of Ormesher, the majority of those with racecourse experience haven't exactly set the world alight so far, so this race can go the way of a newcomer. Mercury Rising is an obvious contender given his connections, and he holds a rather ambitious entry in the 2018 Derby. However, it is probably worth chancing that the Foxwedge filly RIZZLE DIZZLE is fit enough to do herself justice. She represents connections who have made a significant investment in the North in the past couple of years, and has the benefit of the excellent PJ McDonald in the saddle.
