Cheekpieces go on for the first time and a leading amateur is booked although life could be tough from this outside draw. A fair while has passed since her only win and you would have to look to the market to provide a guide in this.

It was only a selling handicap that he won here in August but hard to argue that this is much better and he probably shaped better than his finishing position last time. Slightly less emphasis of stamina here and can be given a chance.

May have found his last outing on the Flat coming too quickly after winning over hurdles five days previously. Has been in good form over hurdles and fences of late and of interest here if he can carry that form over to this sphere.

Showed some fair form on the Flat when trained in France last year but has so far failed to spark for this yard having shown ability on his debut. Now dropped to a career low mark but really does have to show that he can take advantage.

Usually a front-runner but ran no sort of race under a change of tactics last time and the losing run continues to mount up. On the positive side, he steps back up to a more suitable trip here but does have work to do from his draw.

Form for this yard so far has proved rather a mixed bag with his second start for the yard showing some promise. Ran poorly under this rider over hurdles last time (race may have come too soon) and best watched for now.

Showed some distinct promise on her handicap debut in a similar C&D contest (looked to need further). Failed to build on that run last time over 1m4f at Thirsk and now drops into a 0-60 for the first time and could do better.

Could well be entering the last chance saloon having flattered on several occasions finding little after travelling well. May have found conditions too testing last time but looking less and less like one to trust.

An AW winner earlier in the year when with Gary Moore he never really managed to follow that up and now makes his debut for a new yard. Nothing to really recommend him here with a tongue-tie on for the first time.

There was a little bit to work on after his last start, which saw him take 4th on heavy ground over a longer trip than he faces here. He is on a long losing run though so it is hard to go overboard about that as a piece of form.

Certainly knows his way around here having won over C&D and is a three-time course winner. Rather an unpredictable sort these days (usually slow away and can pull hard) his usual blinkers return here and he's the sort who can pop up at a price.

Has very little solid form to offer and a record of 0/15 and a lowly rating probably sum him up. Ran no sort of race last time and is easily passed over here.

Very modest even at her best, looks totally out of sorts at the moment, and is running well below any sort of form. Blinkers now go on for the first time but that looks to be clutching at straws.

C&D winner but has shown no real form for quite some time now and her last few runs have shown her up as poor. Given the widest stall of all here and that only adds to her woes.

Formerly with Sir Mark Prescott, he showed some promise for the yard on his stable/handicap debut over 1m2f at Redcar. Tried over various trips since then with little success and looks to have gone the wrong way.

Looked a little stretched by the trip last time out and will appreciate being back at this trip having looked to make small gains in each of his recent starts. He's attracted support on his last two starts and would be of more interest here were it not for a wide draw.

Forecasts

Dragonite (5/1), My Renaissance (6/1), Aqua Libre (13/2), Inspector Norse (7/1), Colour Contrast (7/1), Sakhalin Star (7/1), Decima (8/1), I'm Super Too (11/1), Bob's Boy (20/1), Royal Holiday (22/1), Almunther (25/1), Fledermaus (33/1), Swiss Lait (50/1), Single Estate (50/1), Etaad (66/1), Kheskianto (100/1)

17:25 Beverley - 26 September 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

This looks the weaker of the two divisions with not many of these in any sort of form and on long losing runs. Sakhalin Star is always likely to run a race in these sort of events although he can be hard to win with and My Renaissance is another who is of interest if he can reproduce his jumping form back on the Flat. Decima could do better in time although her yard aren’t really firing at the moment with Inspector Norse another who may be able to win something like this. In the end though a chance is taken on DRAGONITE with the wide draw tempering enthusiasm but the booking of Serena Brotherton catches the eye and he has shown some marginal gains in his last two races which would be hard to say about plenty of these.
  1. Dragonite
  2. Sakhalin Star
  3. Decima
