Raised 3lb for his first career success at Chelmsford last month (1m2f good), but that is effectively removed by his riders 3lb claim. Has stamina to prove over this longer trip, but encouragingly his dam (Wosaita) was placed over 1m4f.

A two time winner, including on Tapeta at Wolverhampton in March 2016 who just failed by a short-head to catch Woofie at Chelmsford (2m) in July. Moderate since, but drops back in trip.

Slow developing sort, but did better with headgear applied when just over 3L fourth of 13 to Diamond Runner at Redcar last month (1m2f good to soft). Up in trip for AW debut.

Not a frequent winner, but has proved himself a versatile performer and was beaten just a neck over C&D by Sir Runs A Lot earlier this month. Remains on the same mark so another decent showing expected.

Won a 2m Wetherby maiden hurdle (good to soft) in January, but remains a 12 race maiden on the Flat. Off since April 2017, and this appears a race with the new jumps season ahead firmly in mind.

18 race maiden (once with Paul Cole) who has cut little ice back on the Flat in Ireland since a spell over hurdles. Wears a first time visor.

Not won since July 2016 (1m4f good to firm at Beverley), but has been competing respectively from slightly higher marks on turf this summer. Stable flying (double here on Tuesday) and switches back to the AW for the first time for this trainer.

Both career success have come on turf, and his AW mark is 14lb lower than his mark on grass. Stamina must be a major concern over this trip, with his last seven starts coming over no further than an extended mile.

Stablemate of Allfredandnobell. A 13 race maiden who can only be described as a disappointment since joining this trainer from James Eustace. Lacks much AW experience, but Tapeta might bring her forward as a seemingly last resort.

Has had 13 attempts at breaking the duck, but thereabouts over C&D on a couple of occasions this time last year. Beaten just a neck by Canny Style at Catterick (1m4f soft) on her penultimate start, and excuse his latest defeat (2m).

A winner at Musselburgh last month (2m good to firm), but remains on the same mark having 'outbattled' the enigma Tectonic. Found wanting on all previous starts at this track (mainly 2m) and other preferred.

An eight time career winner (four on the AW), but has forgotten how to get his head in front these days; barren since 2014. His handicap mark has plummeted from the mid 70's, and whilst better latest is opposed on balance of probability.

Chilli Jam (15/8), Padleyourowncanoe (4/1), Angel In The Snow (4/1), Ivors Involvement (6/1), British Art (15/2), Chauvelin (12/1), Flying Power (20/1), Molten Lava (20/1), Rock Island Line (22/1), Mr Davies (25/1), Adrakhan (28/1), Desktop (40/1), Pennerley (80/1), Allfredandnobell (80/1)

18:15 Newcastle - 22 September 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

CHILLI JAM is effectively unpenalised for his success at Chelmsford last month (with David Egan's 3lb claim) and whilst the merit of that success is yet to be really tested he appears worth chancing over an extra two furlongs in a very winnable contest. Padleyourowncanoe went down in a three way battle to Sir Runs A Lot over C&D a fortnight ago so rates as the most obvious danger returning on the same handicap mark tonight (59). Of the remainder, Angel In The Snow looks set to have a role to play despite being a 13 race maiden.
