A consistent sort all throughout his career despite winning just twice in 13 starts under rules (five time runner up). Has the assistance of the champion jockey and should be competitive back over fences after a hurdles sharpener at Cork. Blinkered.

Inching up the weights, but running very well all summer, and no stranger to soft ground. This trip looks ideal and a reproduction of either of his last two efforts (at Galway and Kilbeggan) ought to prove good enough.

Won just once in 12 attempts over fences (2m3f+ at Naas in January), but ran well when beaten 1L by Eiri Na Casca at Tipperary in July (2m4f) as well as at Listowel most latterly. Extra yardage a slight concern, but worth a try.

Showed determination late on when beating subsequent winner Valgor Du Roncerary in a Limerick beginners chase in July (2m2f good). Has faced very challenging assignments since then, and whilst this is more realistic, it still looks overly tough.

5/2
Not won over fences since taking a Limerick mares beginners chase in July 2016 (2m3f+ good) but probably should have done so. Gained confidence back over hurdles lately (Downpatrick and Bellewstown form solid) and worth another go back over fences.

Nine race maiden who posted a mediocre fencing debut in a C&D beginners chase here last month (eighth of nine) and quite truthfully has no chance against this level of opposition on these terms.

Forecasts

Jimmy Two Times (2/1), The Gatechecker (5/2), Thanks For Tea (5/2), Net D'Ecosse (11/4), Call It Magic (4/1), Cable (16/1), Pablo San (100/1)

16:55 Ballinrobe - 21 September 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Jimmy Two Times has made a relatively seamless transition to fences and commands respect as he seeks to follow up his Downpatrick beginners chase success in stronger company, whilst Call it Magic should be sharper for a recent spin over hurdles at Cork, has the blinkers applied, the benefit of Ruby Walsh aboard, and appears a worthy adversary. However, the standout contender is the improving NET D'ECOSSE. He has been very competitive all summer with cut in the ground, and whilst probably just struggling to get home over a longer trip at Kilbeggan last month, a reproduction of that form, or his previous 1¾L Galway third to Riviera Sun, ought to prove strong enough.
  1. Net D'ecosse
  2. Jimmy Two Times
  3. Call It Magic
