Pretty consistent since joining this yard and wasn't winning out of turn when scoring in good style on heavy ground at Carlisle earlier this week. Very much respected under a penalty with conditions in his favour.

Five wins from 27 turf starts, with the latest of those coming over 7f at Catterick in June. Has found it tough going from higher marks since, including when badly drawn here last time. A similar fate looks likely.

Enjoyed a great 2016, recording a four-timer before adding a C&D contest a little later in the year. Not in the same form this year and has a bit to prove after another below par effort at Lingfield last time.

Ended a long losing run with a win on the AW in February and also scored at Beverley in May (1m, good to firm) but well-held three times since. Passed over from a less than ideal draw.

Much-improved since a change of stable last autumn, winning for the fifth time for the yard when easily scoring over C&D (good) last month. Similar draw today and hard to dismiss despite easier ground and a punishing 9lb rise.

Has really come of age this season, making it three wins from his last four starts with an emphatic 7L victory over C&D (good to soft) last time out in July. Raised a massive 13lb but plum inside draw will help.

Best turf form has been with cut in the ground, though he hasn't won since 2015. Decent effort when a 3½L second to King's Pavilion at Carlisle earlier this week, though not well enough drawn to make strong appeal here.

Hit a purple patch last autumn with three wins and also scored over 1m at Ripon (soft) in July. Below that form since but easier ground and a favourable draw make him worth a second look, though yard is quiet right now.

Twice won off higher marks last season but has lost his way a little this year and the introduction of cheekpieces here last time failed to stop the rot. At least well-drawn now but unproven on ground this testing.

Dominant winner at Catterick (7f, soft) three starts back but hasn't been able to back that up in two subsequent starts, most recently when well beaten at York. Tough task from a tricky draw.

It was hard not to be impressed by King's Pavilion's authoritative win in the mud at Carlisle last week and he has obvious claims under a penalty, whilst the highly-progressive Kenstone is bound to have his supporters despite incurring a 9lb rise for last month's C&D win. But, if anything, DAN TROOP looks even more progressive on the evidence of his effortless romp in an apprentices event here last time out and even a 13lb rise may not be enough to anchor Richard Fahey's three-year-old from a plum rail pitch.
