Has had a busy campaign, winning three races, including in this grade in France last month. Conditions and trip look ideal for him but he will need to return to that sort of form if he is to win at these weights.

By far his best effort yet was when a 1½L fifth in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot. Weakened out of it when well beaten in the Superlative Stakes next time, but comes here freshened up and has strong claims if at his best.

Landed a Newbury novices' contest (6f, good to firm) in July, but well held when tried in this grade back at that track last time. Step up in trip might bring some improvement, but he looks to have too much to find going into this.

Improved for his Thirsk debut when winning at Musselburgh (7f, good to firm) last time. Despite that ready success, he takes on much tougher opposition today, but we can probably anticipate another improved effort.

Impressed when winning on debut at Ascot in July and his best effort so far was when beaten just ¾L in this grade at Salisbury last time (1m, good). Wasn't at his best on soft at Ascot in the interim which is a concern today, but has claims.

Scored on debut at Windsor (6f, good to firm) in July and despite being sent off at 16-1 he was beaten just 2L into second in Listed company at Ripon last time. This looks tougher on paper, but he has each-way claims now stepped up in trip.

Finished ahead of below-par Aqabah in the Group 2 Superlative Stakes at Newmarket when beaten 2¼L and although not finishing as close to the winner he ran very respectably in the Group 3 at York last time. Each-way claims on that evidence.

Left behind a moderate debut with a win at Chester (7f, good to soft) last time. The bare form of that success is some way short of what he will need to follow up today, but with potential for improvement he could get involved.

Forecasts

Tigre du Terre (15/8), Aqabah (7/2), Tip Two Win (11/2), Zaaki (11/2), De Bruyne Horse (10/1), Soldier's Minute (12/1), Zoffalee (16/1), Major Peirson (33/1)

13:20 Doncaster - 15 September 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A fully firing De Bruyne Horse would be a danger to all here, though preference is for AQABAH, whose Royal Ascot run is the best public form on offer here. Hopefully he will be better for a short break and he is taken to score. Zaaki is respected after some decent efforts in defeat, while Tigre du Terre has the ability to have a say if he can allay concerns over the forecast conditions.
  1. Aqabah
