Dam an unraced half-sister to 1m½f-2m (inc. Listed) winner Frosty Berry and very useful 1m2f winner Star Of Light out of 1m1½f winner. Trip looks a good starting point based on pedigree, though yard just 1-43 with turf juveniles this year.

14-1 and ran well for a long way over C&D on debut (good) last month. Beaten 7L in the end there, but should come on for the run this time and a better effort is anticipated.

Ran green on his Brighton debut (1m, good to soft) last month, so did well to finish only 1L behind the winner. Likely to be able to take a significant step forward now and is not ruled out today.

Has run well on both start to date, going close at Salisbury (7f, good to soft) despite being a beaten favourite there last time. Front pair were clear of the third, who won next time, so that looks smart form in the context of this race.

Slowly away and very green on debut at Sandown (7f, good to soft) earlier in the month, but came home well to be beaten 5L at 33-1. Probable that he can make good progress here and he has to enter calculations.

Best effort so far was over C&D (good) last time out, when beaten just ½L in a similar contest. A repeat of that would give her claims today and she should be thereabouts.

Plenty green enough on debut at Lingfield (7f, good) last month, so it was positive that she made the frame (beaten 4¼L) when 25-1. Likely to trade much shorter today, but if she can improve then she too has claims.

Beaten 13½L when seventh of 11 on debut at Lingfield (7f, good) last month. If she can settle better then we can expect some improvement, though it is likely that she will be seen to best effect when she enters nursery company.

Last on her debut here (6f, good) in July and didn't fare much better when stepped up to this trip at Sandown earlier in the month. Hood now applied, but lots to find and looks best watched until entering nurseries.

After showing signs of greenness she eventually finished a 5¾L fifth of 12 on debut at Lingfield (7½f, good to soft) last month. Subsequently taken out due to the ground (good) at Windsor. Stable in form and market check suggested.

Forecasts

Lifeboat (13/8), Hollydaze (4/1), King Of The Sand (6/1), Hateya (6/1), Port Of Call (6/1), Rosedale Topping (14/1), Dukeofwallingford (20/1), King Athelstan (20/1), Quick Recovery (66/1), Peggie Sue (66/1)

13:30 Epsom Downs - 14 September 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

LIFEBOAT has run to a similar level of form on both starts so far, so he can hopefully reproduce or better that this time. His Salisbury form looks good in the context of this race and he gets the vote. King Of The Sand did well at Brighton and looks a potential danger, along with Port Of Call, Hateya and Hollydaze, who should be capable of improvement this time.
  1. Lifeboat
  2. King Of The Sand
  3. Hollydaze
