Was dropped to this mark at Ffos Las (1m6f, good to soft) last time and that concided with an improved effort. Cheekpieces might help him produce a bit more and he looks to have each-way claims again.

Sole win was on his handicap debut (1m4f, good) at Goodwood last season when with Clive Cox. Couldn't add to that for Ralph Beckett and 0-2 for current yard. Has now dropped to an attractive mark, stays well and acts with cut. Interesting.

Soft ground and this sort of trip are the optimum for this nine-race maiden, whose best efforts suggest that she has a chance from this mark. Should be capable of having a say.

Went close at Thirsk (1m4f, good) last month from a mark of 62 and put in another good effort when up to today's mark at Haydock (1m3f, good to soft) last time. Worth another try at this trip, but at the same time she does have to prove she stays.

Won on heavy ground at Nottingham (2m) in August and went close from 6lb higher at Catterick (2m, soft) last time. Has been kept back waiting for similar conditions and should be heavily involved following another 4lb rise.

Put in a decent effort here over 1m1f (good to soft) last month and also at Catterick over 1m4f next time. Well held at Chepstow last time, however, and this step up in trip does not look an obvious next step. Others preferred.

Has produced a bit better form since being stepped up to this trip on her last two starts at Ffos Las (good to soft) and then winning last time at Salisbury (good). 4lb rise for that looks fair and she needs to improve to defy it.

Came good at Hamilton (1m4f, soft) last time out when sporting first-time cheekpieces. Pedigree doesn't suggest this step up in trip as an obvious route to further success, though has conditions to suit again in a bid to prove his stamina.

0-8 so far and has made the frame just the once, which was over 1m4f. Plenty of stamina on the dam's side of his pedigree, so this step up in trip gives cause for optimism that he might improve. Conditions suit and could go close.

Bodacious Name (15/8), Elite Icon (4/1), Mick The Poser (9/2), Eyreborn (11/2), Stanarley Pic (15/2), Tyrolean (10/1), Lady Natasha (12/1), Ocean Gale (16/1), Zihaam (20/1), Maple Stirrup (20/1), Chelsea's Boy (40/1)

17:40 Carlisle - 13 September 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Elite Icon represents a stable in good form and could put up his best effort yet now stepped up in trip. Ocean Gale is going the right way and can't be ruled out from backing up her Salisbury success, while Bodacious Name and Lady Natasha are both capable of going close. Stanarley Pic is another to consider, though preference is for CHELSEA'S BOY, who stays well, goes on the ground and is on an attractive mark.
  1. Chelsea's Boy
  2. Elite Icon
  3. Ocean Gale
