Horse silk
30/100
Justified favouritism to score on Newmarket debut. Holds a Group Two entry and represents a yard with an 8-26 record here. Sets the clear standard.
Related to several winners most of whom needed much further than this. Expert Eye apart, the yard's juveniles have not been firing and this looks a stiff task for her debut.

Horse silk
50/1
Well beaten on both starts and this looks an even tougher assignment. This looks a more suitable trip but she remains difficult to fancy.
Respectable pedigree and bred to do better over this sort of trip. Clear promise on both starts but she needs to take a giant step forward to land this.

50/1
Unraced Captain Gerrard filly and the first foal of an unraced dam. Represents a trainer who has had some success with this age group in 2017 including a 25/1 winning debutante here.

5/1
Unraced filly by Arcano out of a dam who was a Listed winner as a juvenile. Sister to a winner in Qatar and stable have a good crop of juveniles this year. Worth noting in the market.

Daughter of Footstepsinthesand and a half-sister to winners Plant Pot Power and War Whisper. Signs of improvement last time in a seller and considerably more needed here.

Horse silk
10/1
Captain Gerrard filly, dam a useful stayer and half-sister to Listed placed Nabbaash. Never a threat on Newbury debut but this looks a more suitable trip.

Horse silk
14/1
Excelebration filly out of a well-related Italian dam who has produced a couple of winners in that country. Stable are just 1-11 with turf juveniles here but a further seven have made the frame so her each-way claims look attractive enough.

Forecasts

Gavota (30/100), Qafilah (5/1), Cypria Charis (7/1), Goodnight Girl (8/1), Still Got It (10/1), Unchaining Melody (14/1), Lady Marigold (14/1), Gilded Heaven (14/1), Hollie's Dream (50/1), Peggie Sue (50/1), Spix's Macaw (100/1)

14:10 Lingfield - 30 August 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

GAVOTA and Goodnight Girl clashed at Newmarket 19 days ago with Roger Charlton's filly coming out on top to justify market confidence. Her yard's record here and a future Group two entry suggest she will take some beating. Goodnight Girl is entitled to finish closer on these terms but the yard have been struggling for winners lately. Unchaining Melody and Qafilah look the pick of the newcomers.
  1. Gavota
  2. Goodnight Girl
  3. Unchaining Melody
