Only beaten a head at Yarmouth in May in what a solid debut for his current trainer, but not so good since and has to return to that level of form in order to be competitive here.
Hat-trick seeker who has been in fine form recently and carries a 6lb penalty for an easy victory at Nottingham last time. Clearly improving quickly and shouldn't mind the conditions.
Last but beaten only 3L on handicap debut at Windsor last time. Down 3lb now but possibly prefers soft ground on the basis of what he's showed so far.
Good form on the all-weather this year but has never been able to show his best on turf and is only on a 3lb lower mark on grass. Best watched.
Well beaten at Yarmouth last time having won at Wolverhampton back in January. Sole win on the turf came off a mark 8lb lower than this and he has something to prove against rivals coming here in better form.
Lightly raced type who drops back in trip after possibly not staying 1m2f at Doncaster latest. Fine form in maidens prior to that and makes her handicap debut off what should be a workable mark.
Last time out winner at Lingfield last month, and has been raised 5lb for that victory. Going the right way but is unproven on fast ground and this may be a deeper race than the one he tackled last time.
Only 1/28 overall but good run last time was much better than most of his recent efforts, and this trip/ground should be his optimum. A player if arriving here in his best form.
Hasn't been able to capitalise recently on a slowly reducing handicap mark and has it all to prove following an 8L defeat over further at Beverley latest.

With a few of these looking held by the handicapper, it will probably be best to side with one in good form recently, such as PACIFIC SALT. This hat-trick seeker won very well indeed at Nottingham last time to continue a recent spell of improvement. A 6lb penalty may prove to be a lenient rise in the weights in time given how stylishly he got the job done on that occasion, and a jockey he gets on well with claims a useful 3lb. The lightly raced Kitty Boo is open to further improvement and could be next best, ahead of Salt Whistle Bay, who would go close if proving himself on better ground.
