Don Deadman Memorial EBF Maiden Stakes (Str) (Plus 10) (Div 2)

Acclamation colt, cost €32,000 as a yearling and 40,000 gns as a Breeze-Up purchase in April. Full brother to the useful Music Theory who won over this trip as a two-year-old and dam is a half-sister to Listed winner Rolo Tomasi. Plenty to like about his pedigree but yard generally do better with their older horses and others make more appeal.

Raven's Pass gelding, cost 50,000 gns as a yearling. Dam a full-sister to Listed two-year-old winner over this trip, Queen Of Poland. Yard capable of readying one but perhaps not a good sign he's already gelded and he'll be better over further than this.

Fastnet Rock colt, cost 95,000 gns as a yearling and a half-sister to the useful Belle Royale. Very green on debut over C&D but ran a nice race in defeat, getting the hang of things all a little too late. Yard flying with their juveniles this season and trainer had a two-year-old winner at Nottingham earlier in the week. Sure to come on for his debut and leading claims in this line up.

Zoffany colt, cost €150,000 as a foal and 100,000 gns as a yearling. Dam a half-sister to Listed winner Corrine and a German two-year-old winner over an extended 7f. Pedigree suggests he may enjoy any cut in the ground here and the fact Moore is booked for debut suggests a big run may be expected.

Bahamian colt, cost 45,000 gns as a foal and £140,000 as a yearling. Dam a half-sister to Group 3 winner Ouqba over this trip and Listed winner Foxhaven. Fair effort on debut at Newmarket in similar conditions to this and that looked like a fairly strong maiden. May do better with that run under his belt.

Artie Schiller colt, cost 100,000 gns as a yearling. Has more of a dirt/AW pedigree than turf but improved from his debut to finish fourth of 10 over C&D last time. No doubt another step forward is needed here though.

Dark Angel colt, cost 220,000 gns as a yearling. Dam a sprint winner as a juvenile and half-sister to the Listed placed (over this trip) Meeting Waters. Fair effort on debut in soft ground but that probably not the strongest form on offer here and needs improvement if he's to follow up here.

Havana Gold colt, cost 15,000 gns as a foal and €50,000 as a yearling. Half-brother to fine winner including Group 3 winner and St Leger runner-up Unsung Heroine and dam a half-sister to 1m4f Group 1 winner Posidonas. Beautifully bred but only minor promise on debut and likely to do better over a lot further than this.

Holy Roman Emperor colt, cost €67,000 as a yearling and a half-brother to Group placed Belle De Lune and Listed placed Crooked Woman. Well beaten on both his starts to date, refusing to settle on each occasion and likely to need more time.

Acclamation colt, cost 70,000 gns as a yearling. Dam a German Listed winner over an extended 7f. Yard's debutantes usually need their debut but trip looks suitable and may find the ground to his liking so not dismissed lightly.

Foxwedge gelding whose dam was a maiden. Last of nine on debut, never getting competitive and looked very green. Yard going well in recent weeks but will need a vast amount of improvement to figure here.

Poet's Voice filly, beaten out of sight on debut at Newbury and looked very green. Finished last again at Ascot last month and may need more time.
