Royal Applause filly out of a Galileo mare, so nicely bred. Unfortunately, her two performances so far at Leicester and Goodwood have not been in keeping with her breeding and she may do better when handicapping.

Daughter of Rip Van Winkle who cost 27,000 gns as a yearling. She is a half-sister to 6f 2yo winner Lost At Sea and is from the family of Middle Park Stakes winner Primo Valentino. Slowly into stride when well behind on debut at Leicester, she should show some improvement.

Has shown plenty of ability in two starts over 6f, including when finishing strongly at this track on debut, Steps up a furlong and has a positive jockey booking, but breeding does not shout stamina so it is no given that she will be suited by this trip.

Nathaniel filly who fetched 10,000gns as a yearling and is from a family which contains winners from 6f to 1m. Showed ability when sixth of 14 on debut at Lingfield and likely to step up on that.

By Australian sire Helmet, she cost 10,000gns as a foal and €10,500 as a yearling, and is a half-sister to four winners. She was well beaten at Bath on debut over 5½f and needs to step up over this longer trip for a stable which does so well with its 2yos.

Fourth on both starts over 6f at Newbury and Windsor, indicating the longer trip she gets here will suit. Looks one of the more likely contenders.

Daughter of Havana Gold, who is having a terrific first season as a sire, she cost only £1,500 as a 2yo and is a half-sister to seven winners, predominantly over middle distances. Makes some appeal on paper and a market check is advised.

Sent off at big prices when failing to beat a rival in outings at Lingfield and Epsom. Tongue tied and wearing cheekpieces for the first time, she needs to find huge improvement.

Finished in mid-division on debut at Newbury and, although fifth of six at Goodwood last time, she was not beaten that far. Qualifies for a handicap mark after this and that sphere may see her in her best light.

By leading 2yo Lilbourne Lad, she fetched €4,000 as a yearling and is from a winning family from 6f to 1m. Interesting to see if there is any market confidence.

Forecasts

Autumn Leaves (4/9), Escape The City (11/4), Titchy Digits (10/1), Chickpea (20/1), Mirror Magic (20/1), Ainne (20/1), Rupert's Lass (25/1), Courteous Crown (28/1), Golden Image (33/1), Viktoriya Taraban (33/1), Royal Wave (50/1), Lady Maldiva (100/1)

13:50 Salisbury - 17 August 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Given her form and jockey booking, Autumn Leaves is the obvious one, but there is no guarantee on breeding that the step up in trip is going to suit, so the suggestion is ESCAPE THE CITY, who has looked as though she needs this extra furlong to be seen to best effect. The debutants look interesting without leaping off the page, so the other one for the frame could be Mirror Magic.
  1. Escape The City
  2. Autumn Leaves
  3. Mirror Magic
