3/1
Back to back winner in 2016 (including over C&D in July) and has enjoyed another good run of form lately culminating with a ½L success at Doncaster in early July (5f good to firm). Not disgraced from a 2lb higher mark at Ascot since.

7/1
A five time 5f winner between June and August 2016 who has taken a while to recapture his best form, but eventually took advantage of a falling mark when successful at Lingfield on Saturday (6f good to soft). Respected under a penalty over this shorter trip.

11/2
Back to form with a pair of front running 6f successes (here and at Windsor) during the second half of July. Up 3lb for his latest victory, and this rider returns to the saddle (pair successful at this track previously). Drops in trip which is surely no negative. Track record; 3,1.

12/1
Talented juvenile in 2015 (three time winner over 5f), who recorded her first success since at Beverley in April. Also won at Redcar in May (5f good) and has begun to edge back up the weights. A rare runner for this trainer at this track.

11/4
Short-head winner of the Slip Anchor Nottingham maiden last back-end and has improved with further experience since switched to handicaps. Possibly high enough at present since winning at Bath in June, but drops back in trip from 6f on Tapeta latest and wouldn't be one to rule out with this talented rider booked.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-7| J: L Morris| T: R Harris| OR:  79| D
8/1
Front runner who couldn't land the hat-trick last time and possible the handicapper has caught up with him a little. Hangs under pressure at times and his best form is on good to firm ground (so forecast rain is a negative), but well drawn and will seek to exploit that advantage.

An in and out performer over the years (formerly with Mick Channon). Won on three occasions during 2015 including over C&D in June (good to firm). Handicapped to have a say now dropped 8lb in three starts since mid June.

Flowing Clarets9
Age: 4|  Weight: 8-5| J: K T O'Neill| T: J J Bridger| OR:  61| BF| D
9/1
Well treated on turf from this mark, and his chance is likely to increase should the forecast rain arrive. His last success on turf came on his final start for Richard Fahey in a 5f Windsor claimer in October 2016, and whilst hardly prolific for his new yard he has scored on the AW and was just held by a head by Hollander at that same Thames-side track on his latest start.

Forecasts

Trick of The Light (11/4), Justice Lady (3/1), Dandy Flame (11/2), Seamster (7/1), Fethiye Boy (8/1), Flowing Clarets (9/1), Lydia's Place (12/1), Waseem Faris (14/1)

14:50 Salisbury - 16 August 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A small field, but it would be dangerous too quickly rule out any of these runners, with the majority having claims if judged upon their best form. However, the horse in the best form at present is the Richard Hughes trained DANDY FLAME. This trail blazer is likely to have competition for the lead with Fethiye Boy, but even if young Finley Marsh allows him to do a fraction too much early doors, this drop in trip to 5f will help to offset that damage. Of the remainder, Trick Of The Light is likely to be produced late in the contest by David Egan, whilst Flowing Clarets could well capitalise should any substantial amounts of rain materialze.
