4/1
Chester maiden winner who hasn't been disgraced in nurseries since but only fourth of five despite enjoying the best of the draw at Chester (6f, good to soft) last time out. Doesn't look especially well-treated on that and needs improvement over this extra furlong.

5/6
Flattered to deceive after a winning debut at Newbury (5f, good to firm) but better signs after a gelding operation over C&D (good to firm) last month when a 4L third of 12 behind Tangled. Didn't get the clearest of runs that day, so big chance if handling slower ground.

Mutanaaseq98
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-1| J: Dane O'Neill| T: R Hannon| OR:  86
4/1
A 125,000 guineas purchase who did nothing wrong in winning 5f novice events at Bath and Doncaster on quick ground in the spring despite not being over-impressive visually. Subsequent three-month absence suggests an issue and very different test going handicapping over further on slower ground.

Fleeting Freedom15
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-6| J: J Quinn| T: A Bailey| OR:  77
6/1
Solid enough form in 6f and 7f events so far without ever looking like winning, most recently when a 5L third behind Juliet Capulet at Thirsk (good to soft). Looks fairly-treated for her nursery debut but may already need further.

Forecasts

Gold Town (5/6), Dragons Tail (4/1), Mutanaaseq (4/1), Fleeting Freedom (6/1)

14:35 Newmarket - 12 August 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Hard to rule anything in or out of this nursery with any great conviction. The unbeaten Mutanaaseq brings an unexposed profile into the mix but has stamina and ground queries to answer after an absence; Dragons Tail is also unproven over the trip whilst the distance is already looking on the sharp side for Fleeting Freedom. All things considered, GOLD TOWN looks the most appealing option on the strength of his effort over C&D last time even though he too has still to definitively prove he handles an easy surface.
  1. Gold Town
  2. Mutanaaseq
  3. Fleeting Freedom
