Chase debut today, some chase winners in the family but hurdles form shown leaves him short of a few of these if they run to their marks, and others preferred.

Useful handicap hurdler at his best, three chase starts to date have been mixed, to say the least, with an early mistake not helping his cause at Ballinrobe last time. Capable if putting a clear round in but not one for maximum faith at present.

Useful handicap hurdler for Harry Whittington when on song, handles most ground but pedigree hardly screams that of a chaser at you, and given he's been well beaten on the Flat recently, isn't hard to look elsewhere for the winner here.

Has been going well over fences recently, and has turned in two solid efforts against the classy Peregrine Run at Wexford. Jumping has been solid in those contests, acts on all ground (including soft/heavy) and looks a leading player here.

Ran as well as could have been expected against the improving Pass The Ball last time out, and this small drop back in trip may well help on that evidence. Slight concern if ground turned very soft as best efforts on quicker but that aside, still looks to hold place chances.

Useful at best but clearly had his problems, with gaps in his CV, and didn't do anywhere near enough on recent comeback run after a year off to suggest he'll be taking a hand here. May be something to be won down the line but this looks too tough.

Chase debut today and enough chase winners in the family to think he can make a decent fist of it, but hurdles form some way below the best of these and may be one for handicaps further down the line. Best watched today.

Close second to Cable at Limerick two starts ago and may have gone close but for a final fence blunder, and another bad mistake cost him his chance at Wexford last time, with the rider unseating. Ability is there but need to see a clear round before going in.

Good first chase effort when not beaten far by Ask NIle at Killarney in May, not so good since but far from disgraced last time. Trip and likely ground fine and if repeating good earlier form, wouldn't be far away here.

Forecasts

Roconga (8/11), Delegate (5/1), Valgor Du Ronceray (8/1), Voices Of Spring (8/1), Rolling Revenge (14/1), Crazywork De Vassy (25/1), Shantou Ed (25/1), Time And Times (33/1), Qasser (50/1)

17:25 Sligo - 9 August 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

ROCONGA doesn't have Peregrine Run to worry about here and he can get off the mark. He won't mind any more rain that falls either, and looks a solid option to kick the card off with. Rolling Revenge , however, does have a small question against him as far as the ground goes but his form is solid and he can give the selection most to do. Voices Of Spring should improve and can round out the three.
  1. Roconga
  2. Rolling Revenge
  3. Voices Of Spring
