Mastercraftsman colt who cost 130,000gns as a yearling and is a half-brother to Racing Post Trophy winner St Barths. Should enjoy this trip given his pedigree and is of great interest given his price-tag.

Amaretto9

Played only a minor part in Sandown debut over this trip last month, and needs to come on a massive amount from that in order to even hit the frame here.

Ateem

7/1
Dark Angel colt who cost €150,000 as a yearling. Related to some talented types and should get this trip well on debut for a trainer who has a good record with juveniles.

Son of Firebreak who is related to a few winners, but also has plenty of relatives of little account and looks a risky proposition having been gelded on debut.

Lethal Force colt who cost 28,000gns as a yearling. Not a bad pedigree but still doesn't make as much appeal as some of the other newcomers on offer here.

Iffraj half-brother to Listed-level winners Ayrad and Dawn Of Hope. Family is relatively versatile in terms of trip and this trainer has a good record with two year old runners.

Marble Bar23

Ran a fair race on debut over C&D last time, but doesn't necessarily seem the sort to find massive amounts of improvement on his second start and could be outclassed by some talented-looking rivals.

12/1
More exposed than any of his rivals in this heat, but showed promise with a good run at Ffos Las last time (beaten only a head on good to soft ground), though he would appear to be the stable second string on jockey bookings.

8/11
Ran a promising race on debut when finishing second to a clear cut winner despite showing signs of his inexperience. Races over the same trip here and has to have a big chance on the basis of that first performance for some top connections.

Ode To Autumn (8/11), Ghazan (11/2), Ateem (7/1), Adams Park (9/1), Marble Bar (10/1), Move Over (12/1), Power of Darkness (25/1), Deadly Accurate (28/1), Amaretto (66/1), Blackwood (66/1)

14:00 Salisbury - 7 August 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A difficult race to call with so many interesting newcomers in the field, but maybe ATEEM can prove the best of them. With the eye-catching pairing of Richard Hannon andd Frankie Dettori pairing up, this son of Dark Angel has a nice pedigree, with plenty of his relatives having picked up black type, and goes for a trainer who has enjoyed considerable success with juveniles over the past few years. Ode To Autumn ran very well on debut when almost winning last time out and holds obvious claims, as does Roger Varian newcomer Adams Park.
