Not at her best so far this season, but has been tried in some tricky handicaps and could find this to be a more suitable level. Handicap mark shouldn't be prohibitive, and C&D form is a plus.

Has come into his own and returned to something like his best across his last three runs, putting in impressive performances at 1m on each occasion, though the slight step down in trip here won't be an issue. Same mark as when going close at York last time and should handle the track.

C&D winner two starts ago, but that was in a claimer, and he showed how much he still has to prove off his current mark when well beaten in a handicap at Pontefract last time. Back up in trip now.

Behind Michele Strogoff in a C&D claimer two starts ago, though is better off at the weights with that reopposing rival today. Seems to be his connections' first string in first time blinkers.

C&D winner who is still above his most recent winning handicap mark (for a win from last June), and may find himself pitched in a little too high at the weights, having been beaten in weaker races than this recently.

Not disgraced in his races recently and won off a similar race to this at Nottingham in May, but it's perhaps a slight concern that most of his best runs have come on much more galloping tracks (a win at Windsor being his sole piece of form on a sharper course).

Has run mostly only races of little account since a hat-trick since last summer, and is on the same mark as when beaten 5½L in what seemed a weaker race than this one at the same course last time.

Still 4lb higher than when winning at Beverley in June (7½f, good to soft), but may be able to find further improvement in his races if learning to settle better.

Zlatan (3/1), Breakable (4/1), Calder Prince (9/2), Michele Strogoff (11/2), Navarone (11/2), Gabrial The Tiger (11/1), Chosen Character (16/1), Gabrial's Kaka (20/1)

The one who appeals most here is CALDER PRINCE. His recent improvement in form has been very much of note, and he remains on the same mark as when going close at York last time out. He may not have had the race run to suit that day and he has to have a big chance at a course which shouldn't be an issue for him. Navarone can give him most to think about if learning to settle better, while Zlatan also holds claims from stall one, though almost all his best form has come at more galloping tracks (except a sole win at Windsor).
  1. Calder Prince
  2. Navarone
  3. Zlatan
