Useful performer who has won six times on the AW. Had been running well over the mile when last seen but drop back to this trip looks a positive (all wins over 7f). Yet to figure prominently in four turf starts, which rates a big concern. Engaged 5:50 Goodwood Wednesday.

Redcar winner in higher grade and followed up with a good effort at Epsom. Ground would have been against him here last time but current stable form rates a concern.

Has two wins and three other frame finishes at Newmarket. Shaped as though ready for a return to this trip last time. Back to the mark which brought her last success in a valuable handicap last autumn and a definite candidate for the shortlist.

A change of tactics and mercy from the handicapper helped him to his best run for several months here two weeks ago. Last winning rider is employed for the first time since and back in the grade which has brought his two previous successes, albeit over further.

Made all to score in lower grade and then finished last off this revised mark last time. Soft ground will have been a factor but he still has plenty to find.

Not won since landing a Wetherby maiden back in 2015 and he ran poorly last time out at Carlisle. Stable in better form now and worth noting in the market beforehand.

Having first run since switching from Richard Fahey and turf form indicates a preference for some give underfoot. This is his optimum trip and he is weighted to go close should there be further rain.

Both horse and trainer have been in good form this year. Latest run suggests the handicapper may have his measure for now.

Now 10lb higher than his last success following some gallant efforts in defeat. Went close under this rider at Ascot three weeks ago and this looks less competitive.

Sole turf win was in 2014 but beginning to look attractively enough weighted on this surface. Stable enjoying a good spell and no forlorn hope.

Has a much better strike rate on the AW than on turf, and has largely disappointed in his four starts since winning over 6f at Chelmsford in early May.

Winner in basement grade at Yarmouth in May. Third in another less competitive race last time and finished last on his only try against this calibre of rival.

19:30 Newmarket - 4 August 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

My Dad Syd will have his supporters with Silvestre de Sousa again on board. The handicapper has raised him again in the weights following another gallant defaeat and SUMMER CHORUS looks more favourably treated. Andrew Balding's filly goes well here and is on the same mark as when landing a valuable prize last autumn. Shyron represents an in form stable and Mountain Rescue just found one too good over the C&D last time.
