14/1
Twice a winner over timber already this year and placed on two more occasions from six starts in this sphere. Should have a say in the outcome once more.

Age: 5|  Weight: 11-9| J: N P Madden| T: N Madden| C| D
16/1
Decent sort on the Flat, made light work of a maiden hurdle over extended two miles at Sligo last month on first start over timber and has to be respected coming into what looks a tougher contest on paper.
3
Horse silk
7/2
Twice gone well in big-field maiden hurdles, latterly winning over 2m at Kilbeggan last month. Looks an obvious contender for this prize, as Cooper seeks winning start to the festival.

10/1
Bit to find on Flat form with some of these but winning start over timber last month at Cork over 2m and entitled to build on that solid start.
5
Horse silk
11/4
Very smart Flat performer, finished second on first start over hurdles at Christmas before finding Grade One juvenile event too hot next time out. Off since February but not one to write off yet for these leading connections.

Law Girl21
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-11| J: Ruby Walsh| T: W P Mullins| D
11/8
Turned over when odds-on favourite for Listowel maiden hurdle in June but no mistake second time out at Roscommon over extended two-miles when easily winning. Represents champion trainer / jockey and demands respect.

Forecasts

Law Girl (11/8), Housesofparliament (11/4), Cinema De Quartier (7/2), Deor (10/1), Morgan (14/1), Boherbuoy (16/1)

17:20 Galway - 1 August 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Ranking the Gigginstown contenders got that little bit tougher with the news that Bryan Cooper no longer has first call, but he seems to have found a decent opportunity here on Kilbeggan winner Cinema De Quartier and the partnership should go close. None of the sextet would be ruled with any degree of confidence, Morgan and Boherbuoy having winning experience over timber already while Cork winner Deor wouldn't have matched some of these on the Flat. Walsh and Mullins took this last year with Penhill and they may take the opener again with LAW GIRL, who was impressive when notching last time out Roscommon and will take stopping if building on it. Housesofparliament, not seen since the Spring Juvenile Hurdle, should be capable of a decent showing for a yard in good recent form.
  1. Law Girl
  2. Cinema De Quartier
  3. Housesofparliament
