Form figures here read 23133 and a C&D winner here in the past. The win this year came over 1m1f off a mark of 76 and has run two very solid races over this C&D since. Closely matched with Gworn on some of his form this year and capable of going close again off this mark of 82 in a race that could be run to suit.

Another C&D winner who is always likely to produce his best form around here and won here in May over a mile. Not disgraced on any of his starts since then but gives the impression that the handicapper has a hold of him now.

The third of the C&D winners at the head of the weights and has been in good form this year with three wins all over this C&D and his other runs here also read well. Wasn't quite seen to best effect last time out and if he gets a better run of the race here is likely to be on the premises again.

Has won round here over shorter in the past but his last two wins have come on the AW at Newcastle. Started this year with a win on the Tapeta off a career high mark and since then he's struggled a little including on a return to turf last time.

Front-runner who may get the run of this race but has looked as though she lacks pace and could possibly do with even further now. Doesn't look especially well handicapped and others are preferred here.

Runs this year had started to look as though she needed a stiffer test of stamina but she managed to win over this trip on her penultimate start at Redcar over this trip in a small field. Failed to follow-up that run after a short break (possibly found the race coming too soon) and may do better here off a longer break.

Still a maiden but has had 10 races now and starting to look exposed to anything solid or progressive and there are a few of those in this field.

Forecasts

Gworn (5/2), Barwell (5/2), Royal Regent (3/1), Berengaria (9/2), Jamacho (5/1), Tamayuz Magic (5/1), Testa Rossa (8/1), Maraakib (14/1), Maulesden May (16/1), Eastern Dragon (25/1)

16:40 Ayr - 24 July 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

The three C&D winners at the top of the weights are sure to attract interest with Gworn and Royal Regent always likely to be a threat around here. Maraakib is the one likely to travel but his weak finishing efforts are starting to become a worry while Tamayuz Magic might just need to slip a few more pounds in the handicap but BARWELL is a very progressive individual from an in-form yard and he’s given the vote here as he bids for his hat-trick.
  1. Barwell
  2. Royal Regent
  3. Gworn
