First run for a new yard who can do well with their new recruits and has been running in point-to-points (won four times in that sphere). Last seen out under Rules in May 2015 for Neil Mulholland over hurdles but has been placed twice over fences and should be watched in the market.

Returns from an absence upped in trip and having been pulled-up over fences last time out ground that looked far too testing for him. Hurdles form is much better than his chase form and although his yard is in decent form he's best watched for now.

Hurdles winner at this course in October in novice company and shaped as though this trip was too far for him over hurdles subsequently. Makes his chasing debut in a handicap off his lowest mark yet but stamina concerns make him one to be wary of.

From a trainer that has made a very fast start to his training career with five winners on the board already and is well represented on this card. This one isn't really bred for chasing (formerly with the trainer's mother Anabel) but he shaped well in a first-time hood on his chasing debut finishing with running left in him over 2m4f at Uttoxeter. Raised just 2lb for that run he's still well handicapped on the best of his hurdles form and one for the shortlist here.

Form over fences isn't as good as hurdles and he's tried in cheekpieces for the first time here. Ran better than for a while when third last time out at Huntingdon over 2m4f and the form has actually worked out better than it looked with the second and fourth winning next time out.

Lightly-raced in bumpers and over hurdles he shown very little in that sphere. May well be better going handicapping and trying fences now (half-brother to smart chaser Emily Gray) and worth watching in the betting.

Looks to be going chasing quite late in life having taken an age to win over hurdles but finally doing so for this yard over 3m at Southwell. New mark in that sphere has proved beyond her and she races off just a 1lb lower mark here on her first chasing venture.

Still a maiden after 19 jumps outings and that includes his unsuccessful chasing debut at Uttoxeter last time out. Looks to lack the size and scope for fences and makes very little appeal here.

16:10 Stratford - 23 July 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Most of the focus here will be on SKILLED for new trainer Olly Murphy who has looked an expert at rejuvenating horses already and this isn’t a deep race at all for him to try and build on his good run last time out. Icanmotor doesn’t make that much appeal over fences and Miami Present may be able to improve on his third last time out although he’s not an obvious winner. Two at likely bigger prices that are worth watching in the market are Buck Magic and Orchestrated both of whom may be a little better than they have shown so far.
  1. Skilled
  2. Orchestrated
