A non-runner on his last starts he shaped well on his first run for this yard over 7f at Chelmsford on the AW but hasn't really built on that run in two starts since. His long losing run is starting to look rather worrying now and a new headgear combination is now tried.

Has been capable of some very high-class handicap form in the past and has given some signs that he is still up to winning races especially off a mark that surely gives him a chance. Yard like to have a tilt at the ring and any market moves for him should be noted.

Took him a while to add to his winning racecourse debut but did so when taking a 7f Redcar handicap in June off a 2lb lower mark. Still looked fairly treated last time out at Epsom although the course didn't really appear to suit and better is expected here.

Winner of both of his starts as a juvenile over 6f he's coped well in his brace of handicap starts this year not really getting ideal circumstances on either occasion. He looked to have been done no favours by racing too close to a strong pace last time out over 6f here and a return to 7f will surely suit for this likeable type who could be capable of better yet.

Handicapper had to relent in the end and has done so dropping him some 6lb in the handicap and that may at last give him a chance of getting back to the form he showed when a dual winner last year. Both those wins came off lower marks still and he might need a further drop before getting back to winning form.

Still only has a 6f AW maiden win to show for his efforts although he has faced some tough tasks in handicaps this year all off mark in the upper 80's. Can look a rather quirky sort on occasions but this looks a little easier than his last outing and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him in the mix here.

Slightly difficult to know what to expect here having not really having shown much this year although he can be excused his last run as the saddle slipped. Looks to have a little work to do with this field off this mark though and a watching brief is advised.

Forecasts

Love Dreams (7/4), Horsted Keynes (3/1), Mazyoun (7/2), Mountain Rescue (9/2), Qeyaadah (6/1), Baron Bolt (6/1), Toofi (9/1), Ghalib (10/1), Anfaass (16/1)

17:00 Newmarket - 22 July 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Not the strongest handicap for a Newmarket 0-80 and it should give LOVE DREAMS a good chance of opening his account for the season now returned to 7f. Mazyoun has looked to think about things on occasions but can enter the equation here with Horsted Keynes and Baron Bolt closely matched on their running last time. Qeyaadah should be far happier on this more conventional course with Toofi one to watch in the betting off a rapidly falling mark.
