Ran well in pair of turf maidens in autumn 2015, including over 7f here, she was well held over 1m2f on the AW at Chelmsford in April 2016 and has since been absent for 470 days. Tough ask to make winning return on handicap bow.

Has had a short break but was banging on the door previously, including when finishing ¾L second in similar type event over 1m3½f at Windsor in April. Has gone well fresh before.

Two most recent turf runs over 1m2f have been tame, fading out of contention at Brighton in May and then never getting involved at Leicester earlier this month. Needs some rejuvenation at the moment seemingly.

All five career successes have come here at Newmarket, including over this trip in July 2015. Came back from a layoff with facile win over 1m last month and was just held off in second over the same trip a week later. Three-wee break since and looks set for another strong bid now going up in trip.

She showed some promise in a couple of races as a juvenile and certainly has the ability to get her head in front again this season. Opened her account when winning cosily over 1m2f at Chepstow last month on soft ground and no reason to suggest she won't build on that here with conditions set to suit.

Filly has looked an improved performer this season, gone close over a mile here in May and then staying on strong to win at Nottingham over extended-mile 13 days later. Produced a below par effort back here since but remains interesting now tackling this trip for the first time.

Poor in first two starts this season but the handicapper relented somewhat and came perilously close to win at Doncaster 20 days ago over this trip on good to soft ground. Contender if corner has been turned.

In fair form of late, perhaps having stamina stretched over 1m4f at Lingfield on the AW previous two runs. Yet to win beyond 7f but this drop back in distance ought to suit and has the ability to get involved off current mark.

Forecasts

Glenys The Menace (3/1), Twenty Times (3/1), Trulee Scrumptious (4/1), Carducci (9/2), Safira Menina (12/1), Duchy (14/1), Della Valle (16/1), Auntie Barber (16/1)

TRULEE SCRUMPTIOUS positively loves it around here and can register a sixth career victory at this venue. Won here over a mile on return to action and was narrowly denied last time with front two having come clear. Upped in trip on the July course, she holds strong claims of defying her penalty. Twenty Times showed enough on softish ground at Chepstow last time out to merit consideration while this drop in distance should also enable Glenys The Menace to have her say. Carducci was disappointing on her most recent outing but had previously been going the right way and isn't to be discarded just yet.

  2. Twenty Times
  3. Glenys The Menace
