Well beaten in bumpers at Newcastle and Musselburgh in the winter and both the fact that he ran in those and also that he begins his Flat career over 1m are at odds with his sprinting pedigree. Probably best watched on this occasion.

Last of five, beaten over 8L in a Hamilton maiden (6f, soft) and now makes an immediate step up to this trip. Is a half-brother to a winner over this trip and others with greater stamina, should this should help him take a step in the right direction.

Won bumper at Ayr (heavy) and Kelso (good) earlier in the year but has been well held over middle distances thus far on the Flat. Will have a handicap mark after this run and that is likely to be where he finds some success.

Former Marco Botti inmate who well beaten in two bumpers in the winter for this yard. As a half-brother to winners over this trip and 1m2f, there is cause for some optimism on the Flat, but unless the market is particularly positive he looks best watched today.
Improved plenty for his Newcastle debut when beaten less than 1L into second at Ripon (1m, good) last week. Connections waste no time in returning him to the racecourse and he looks one of the more serous players tonight.

Improved on his Carlisle debut when beaten less than 3L into third over 7½f (good to soft) at Chester earlier this month. Extra ½f no problem and if he can show more improvement again then he can be in the shake-up.

11,000gns yearling. First foal of an unraced half-sister to 7f 2yo Group Two winner Cairns and to the dam of a French 1m Group Two winner Tamazirte. Grandam was a 5f/6f 2yo winner and runner-up in a Cheveley Park. Lovely pedigree, though stable yet to have a 3yo in the frame this season. Looks best watched on debut.

Green and always towards the rear on her Doncaster debut (7f, good to firm) earlier in the month. Steps up in trip here, which looks positive, though yard a little bit quiet at the moment, which has to be a concern. Can hopefully show improvement.

Proving very frustrating to follow but she does at least run to a consistent level of form and the Godolphin horse that beat her at York last time may yet turn out to be smart. This looks another potential opportunity for her to break her duck, but she is at the same time vulnerable.

Forecasts

Spinnaka (4/6), Aclimatise (11/4), Infamous Lawman (5/1), Golden Jeffrey (12/1), Chosen World (20/1), Stolen Angel (25/1), Rownak (28/1), Bahkit (33/1), Danny Mc D (40/1), Budarri (100/1), Compass Rose (100/1)

18:10 Thirsk - 18 July 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

You can set your watch by the performances of Spinnaka, and few would begrudge her a first win, but she keeps on finding one too good and is hard to recommend at what will again be miserly odds. Therefore. the suggestion is the unexposed ACLIMATISE, who made good progress last time and can hopefully make a further step up. Infamous Lawman and Danny McD seem the most likely of the remainder to be in the hunt for the prizes.
  1. Aclimatise
  2. Spinnaka
  3. Infamous Lawman
