Convincing winner of the King George V Stakes at Royal Ascot last time, benefiting from a smart ride in the process. Still very lightly raced but he's a game sort with a likable attitude and should take the jump to Group company in his stride with the step up in trip likely to see him in an even better light.

Well beaten in the Derby last time out but can be forgiven that and he had won his two previous starts, making all at both Windsor and Nottingham. May be able to get back on track in a less demanding contest such as this but he will need to take a step forward if he's to get his head in front.

Won a couple of starts as a two-year-old and ran well on seasonal return here in May. Has run well on both starts here and there's no concerns over the nature of the track but may prove better over sharper trips than this and he's a little more exposed than some in here.

Won a Newbury maiden on second start this year but he's been disappointing on two subsequent runs. Slow to break on several of his starts and appears to be the yard's second string on jockey bookings; has a bit to prove at present against proven pattern-level performers.

Good fourth at Royal Ascot last time, benefiting from being held up off a strong-pace. Same tactics likely again here and gives the impression he's the sort that needs everything to drop right to be seen to best effect.

Well beaten at Royal Ascot last time after winning easily when well-backed at Haydock the time before. Wouldn't appear to be the most consistent sort and not guaranteed to get an easy lead but may be able to bounce back with De Sousa in the saddle for the first time.

Won a maiden over 1m2f on first start of this season but hasn't really gone on from that effort and well beaten in a Group 3 at Royal Ascot last time out. It's dubious whether this step up in trip is what's required and probably one that wouldn't want rain to arrive.

Promising start to his career but ruined his chance when running too wide off the turn at Royal Ascot two starts back and couldn't land a blow at the Curragh last time in softer conditions. Questions to answer after those efforts but yard did well at this meeting last year and it would be no surprise to see him bounce back.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-1| J: W Buick| T: C Appleby| OR:  103
9/2
Listed winner at Saint-Cloud before running a shade disappointingly in the Dante at York when probably setting off a little too fast. Missed Royal Ascot and quite possibly had a few issues since then but still relatively lightly raced and no surprise to see him run well provided the ground doesn't dry out too much.

Forecasts

Atty Persse (11/4), Raheen House (7/2), Wolf Country (9/2), Crowned Eagle (13/2), Desert Skyline (11/1), Wisconsin (12/1), Tamleek (14/1), Sofia's Rock (20/1), Face The Facts (22/1)

13:50 Newmarket - 13 July 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

ATTY PERSSE couldn't have been more impressive at Royal Ascot last time after he overcame a poor draw in a strong race to win comfortably. Crowned Eagle is one of two in here for John Gosden; he can be forgiven a poor run in the Derby last time and he may find it easier to dominate this field from the front. Raheen House will benefit from any pace that is on and gain his first win of the year.
  1. Atty Persse
  2. Crowned Eagle
  3. Raheen House
