Eight attempts on the Flat have yielded little promise, sent off 50/1 last month over this C&D and beaten to the tune of 37L, tough task again.

Has shown very little over jumps and beaten handsomely last month over 1m2f at Naas and 1m5f at Ballinrobe. Upped again in distance for third Flat outing.

Now a teenager, sole success came over fences all the way back in April 2012. Was beaten 44L in a similar event over this C&D last month.

Won a couple of bumpers in the summer of 2016 (Killarney and Galway) and ran with some purpose in two Flat outings earlier this spring.

Sixteen-race maiden over jumps, who at least did manage to finish second (albeit well beaten) at Gowran Park in March. Trainer won this contest a year ago.
Prolific in the National Hunt sphere with nine wins from 20 runs. Stable form is something of a concern but must rank as the contender on first Flat outing.

Beaten out of sight on debut for this yard at Bellewstown recently over 1m4f, has run some decent races in the past over shorter trips but hard to fancy at the moment.

Forecasts

Mountain Rock (9/10), Sandymount Duke (6/5), Batchelors Walk (16/1), Phar Island (25/1), Boston Oscar (33/1), High Honcho (40/1), Hidden Diamond (50/1)

21:00 Leopardstown - 13 July 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

SANDYMOUNT DUKE has by some way the best of any of these over jumps and, despite the Harrington team being out of form, he'll surely have a race like this within his compass. He was in good form winning for fences at Down Royal 20 days ago and so has no fitness worries. Mountain Rock, twice a bumper winner, has run well in two Flat starts this year and is best quipped to take advantage if the selection fails to fire. Phar Island, whose trainer won this a year ago, is best of the remainder.
  1. Sandymount Duke
  2. Mountain Rock
  3. Phar Island
