The step up to this trip around here looked very much the answer to the improved form that he showed last time where he could possibly be rated a little better than the bare result. Now has to give weight away all-round but looks the type to go on improving and nicely drawn here.

Very much improved for his debut run when finishing second at Haydock last time out over 7f on quick ground. Put his experience to good use in that run and likely to know even more this time around.

Hardly shown a thing so far in two starts over 5f finishing well beaten and last on both occasions. Hard to make much of a case for him here even at the increased trip which should suit given his pedigree.

Has work to do with Poet's Dawn on his first run bit that was his debut and he may well know more this time around. Certainly looked as though he had some ability in that contest although a greater test of stamina may well suit him even better given the dam's side of his pedigree.

Alfa McGuire19

There was some encouragement in his debut run at Carlisle over 6f where he looked inexperienced (that form franked already) and he was also slow away. He won't want to repeat his start from the wide draw here though that could make life a little difficult.

Not well drawn at all for his debut in a double-figure stall and that could make life very awkward for this half-brother to Clare Island Boy (a winner at up to 1m4f). Pedigree suggests that further will be needed and best watched here with others having more experience.

From a yard that are going well with their juveniles of late this one was very noisy in the preliminaries on his debut at Carlisle and showed his inexperience in the race finishing well held over 6f. May well come on for that initial run but has work to do with Alfa Mcguire who finished ahead at Carlisle.

Already gelded for his debut he was retained by the vendor for just £2,000 as a yearling. Yard have a modest record with juveniles this year and others are preferred here.

Plenty of smart relations in her pedigree but looked much in need of the experience at Doncaster on her debut and was never really in the race. Given the stamina in her pedigree looks one for the longer term and may well need this run to bring her on again.

One who looks to have some improvement in her and it's hard to say that she had the best of runs (or draws) on her debut at Pontefract over 6f. Eventually fifth on that initial run she certainly wasn't fancied in the market (started 50/1) but showed plenty to work and that she would improve for this and a step up to 7f.

13:40 Beverley - 8 July 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

There are a few interesting types in this and it should provide a competitive race with last time out winner Poet’s Dawn setting the standard after his win here last time over this trip but he does have to give weight away all round now. Alfa Mcguire would have been more fancied were it not for his wide draw and that same fate has befallen Iconic Sunset who ran well last time out and should move forward again. A few of these look to need further in time but the 7f trip should be perfect for HOGAR SEGURO who wasn’t fancied on her debut at Pontefract but shaped really well and looks ready for this longer trip having stayed on well last time.
  1. Hogar Seguro
  2. Poet's Dawn
  3. Iconic Sunset
