Justified favouritism to win this contest last year. Not won since but some promise on his reappearance at Royal Ascot when fifth of 16 in a Listed contest and entitled to come on for that run. Leading player back here.
Smart winner in Dubai on first run of the season and seems to appreciate time off in between his races. Won well at Chelmsford when last seen after missing the break and that effort can be upgraded a little with him having to make his effort from off the pace. Ought to go well again if he gets a decent pace to aim at.
French-recruit who ran well in a couple of handicaps out in Meydan and had Ayrad in behind at Royal Ascot. last time. However, he was in receipt of 5lb from that rival last time and may struggle to confirm the form here.
Should have won at Goodwood two starts back when given an impossible task and letting the winner get first run. Very disappointing at York last time when a well backed favourite but should go well back up in trip.
Finished half a length of Churchill at Royal Ascot last year and won at Salisbury on his next start. Well beaten at the Goodwood Festival when last seen and entitled to need this run after nearly a year off the course.
Has looked a different prospect this year and won his maiden well here last time but this contest is a different proposition entirely and hard to imagine he has enough improvement in him to take this.
SPARK PLUG could be the one to side with provided they get a decent pace to aim at and he'll enjoy the step back up in trip. Fanciful Angel produced one of his best efforts with a win at Chelmsford last time and he's another who is reliant on a decent pace. Ayrad made all when winning this last year and is dangerous to rule out if allowed an easy lead.
