Early mistakes and trouble in running didn't help his cause over fences at Uttoxeter last time, but earlier effort when third to The Tailgater at Southwell (winner gone in again since) looks solid. Should stay this trip and conditions fine, so holds every chance in a modest event.
Winner of a couple of minor point-to-points (later disqualified from one of them) but recent form suggests he's rather gone off the boil. Can only be watched here.
Showed little both in Ireland for James Barcoe and in point-to-points, and didn't pull up any trees on his debut for the yard here in late June. Needs huge improvement from somewhere, and that looks unlikely.
Point-to-point winner (and four times a runner-up) that ran a bit better than his finishing position suggested against a couple of decent sorts here last time, not knocked about once chance had gone. Nothing of that quality here, so a good run from the front would not surprise.
Some ability there, as he's shown in efforts at Wincanton and Huntingdon this season, but jumping technique holding him back and an early unseat at Uttoxeter last time hardly helps his cause. Can get involved if finding some fluency, but others preferred.
Two runs in bumpers have revealed little, doing a bit better on the second than the first but neither good enough to suggest he's up to taking a hand in this on hurdles debut tonight.
Some promise when fifth in debut at Ludlow (form weak) and bettered that when third to Bubbles Arcade here on her latest start. Question mark on pedigree as to whether this trip is what she wants, but has to be considered if jumping fluently on hurdles debut here.
Forecasts
Buble (11/10), Major Davis (2/1), Guerrilla Tactics (7/2), Gaelic Surprise (16/1), Carumba (33/1), Cheyona (50/1), Flasheen (66/1)
Back over hurdles, BUBLE is given the vote. This trip should eke out a bit more improvement and in truth, a repeat of his Southwell third may well be good enough anyway. Guerilla Tactics shaped nicely on his first start here and may give him the most to do. Major Davis needs to sort his feet out at the obstacles but there's races in him once he does.
