Best effort from four over hurdles to date came at Southwell where, despite finishing last, he wasn't beaten far by some useful types after holding every chance. Stepped up in trip for handicap debut today and looks fairly handicapped. Market will guide as to chances.

Had often travelled well in his races before finding little but put that right last time with the easiest of victories over C&D. Possible that race rather fell apart and a 10lb rise asks plenty more, but not discounted now he's found the winning habit.

Frustrating individual that finds winning hard, and no victory since 2015. Has ability, as he showed when second on the Flat in April, so with his ideal conditions again tonight, should run his race. Others still preferred for the win, though.

Soft ground no use to him, so latest disappointing effort easily forgiven, and he's on a nice mark on the best of his form, Steps down the grading ladder here but no win since 2014 a concern. Others hold stronger claims.

Possibly an unlucky loser at Fakenham latest, coming from off the pace with what looked a winning run only to unseat at the last. Trip fine and on same mark here so if building on that, holds chances in an open event.

New yard finally got her off the mark on the 30th attempt when a winner at Southwell in May, and that form quite solid, but the 10lb rise in the weights seemed to find her out at Uttoxeter last time. Needs to find more now, and that may be asking a lot, despite ideal conditions.

In good heart at present, and form of his second to Camilla's Wish at Fakenham has been well advertised by the winner since. He himself won at Market Rasen next time and from just 2lb higher here, and conditions fine, looks to hold a solid chance.

Very well handicapped on the best of his form but it's some time since he showed any of that (last win two years ago) and yard are struggling badly for form. Makes little appeal here.

On a winning mark but must be a question over the suitability of this trip given best efforts have come at 2m. Didn't show enough on recent comeback after a break to suggest he's up to winning here.

Glimmers of promise in a couple of her six starts to date, and although disappointing on recent handicap debut at Uttoxeter the better ground here (and first time visor) may help. Yard can pop one in at a good price in these events, and needs a look in the market at least.

Was starting to look frustrating but took advantage of a very low handicap mark when winning with any amount in hand at Southwell last week, the step up in trip seemingly proving the catalyst. Penalty to carry here but that won't stop him if he's in the same form.

Three runs back this spring from a long absence have revealed little and he's in no sort of form at present. Can't be entertained as a likely winner.

Forecasts

Polarbrook (7/2), Samson (9/2), Overtoujay (9/2), Icanmotor (5/1), The Lampo Genie (10/1), Ballyandrew (12/1), Varene De Vauzelle (12/1), Buckontupence (12/1), Byron Blue (16/1), Alameda (20/1), Number One London (25/1), Aspecialpresent (28/1), Table Bluff (66/1)

19:50 Stratford - 4 July 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Plenty of these come here off the back of decent efforts, but they could all be playing for the places if POLARBROOK can repeat last week's Southwell win. The fact he's such an infrequent winner is a concern, but he kept his form the last time he found it, and there's no reason to think that, under similar conditions to last week, he won't run his race. Overtoyoujay is another that brings solid form to the table and he can claim second ahead of Buckontupence , out to gain some compensation for his unlucky unseat last time, and Samson. Alameda is worthy of consideration if a big price.
  1. Polarbrook
