Has been knocking on the door in recent outings on both fast and soft ground over this sort of trip and now drops into a slightly weaker contest with a 1lb drop and every chance of his first win since March.

Has won a maiden and a seller, though yet to win a handicap. Was competitive from higher marks than this on the All Weather earlier in the year, but comfortably held back on turf at Thirsk last time and it takes a leap of faith to see him winning even this moderate affair.

2-12, with the only two occasions that she has finished in the money being when winning here, including over C&D (good) last time. Raised 5lb for that, but sees out 6f well and given her liking for the track, she has to be considered in her follow up bid. Unproven on good to soft.

Proving to be a little frustrating to follow, having been placed in five successive starts, the last of them being the only one on turf (Leicester, 5f, good to firm). Starts on the same mark today and cheek pieces now discarded, but if she handles the ground she should go very well.

Pops up now and again and added two turf wins to his CV last year, one over C&D on fast ground and the other on good to soft at Catterick. 1lb lower than the latter today and should be competitive, though still has a bit to find with Dutch Dream on their running here last month.

At his best on turf when there is cut in the ground, but while he has continued to win on the All Weather, you have to go back 14 months to find his last turf success (Ayr, 6f, good to soft). Now 17lb lower than that and gets his conditions here. Well beaten recently, but support for this veteran would still be interesting.

5lb better off with Dutch Dream for a 1¾L defeat when the pair met here last month, so has a decent chance of turning the tables there, though he is proving frustrating and unable to win from this sort of mark herself. Wouldn't do to risk the life savings on her, especially on this slower ground.

Sliding to the sort of mark from which she might prove to be effective, though not yet seeing the signs that an upturn in fortunes is imminent. Market support for her would heighten interest and she went well enough on her only previous try on good to soft.

Well held in all three starts in maidens for Ollie Pears and now goes handicapping on her first start for this yard. Certainly on a workable mark for first turf start, but has to prove she is up to handling it as well as this forecast ground. Market check advised.

1lb higher than when going close at Catterick (5f, good to firm) in April. Yet to race on fast ground and was in reasonable form in defeat back at Catterick two starts ago. This is her first try on easier ground, but if she handles it she should be competitive.

Dutch Dream goes well here and is very much respected from a 5lb higher mark than when scoring last time over C&D. However, she is unproven on the ground and that is not the case with top weight CULLODEN, who looks to have solid claims in this grade. Captain Scooby is lurking on a dangerously low mark and may still have a race such as this in him, while Joysunny and Maggi May are others who should be thereabouts.
  1. Culloden
