El Borracho13
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: Louis Steward| T: S Dow
33/1
Finished seventh of ten to shock winner Bullington Bandit on debut at Newbury just under a fortnight ago. Expected to improve for that experience, but done no favours by the draw and others look stronger.

Once raced Showcasing colt out of Disclose, who herself was French Listed placed. Trainer tends to do well in these kind of races, and expected to be much wiser for his Newmarket debut (6F good) when last of nine to Folk Tale.

By Rock Of Gibraltar out of Up At Last and fetched 75,000 gns as a yearling. However, was always behind after a slow start at Nottingham on debut and needs to have come on considerably in order to compete for a place tonight.

Equiano colt who started at odds of 100/1, and duly finished last of eleven to Masar on debut at Goodwood last month (6F good). Highly unlikely to be good enough in similar company.

Makanah21
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: Jim Crowley| T: S & E Crisford| BF
15/8
Beaten 4L at short odds (1/4) at Wolverhampton earlier this month after a most pleasing third to Zap on debut at York in May. Has to bounce back on a different synthetic surface, but fair claims if able to replicate that York showing.

Mearing22
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: S Donohoe| T: C Fellowes
10/3
Produced a debut effort full of promise at Wetherby (5½F) earlier this month when chasing home Jedi Master. Appeared very much in need of that experience, and this slight step up in trip looks a major plus. Bred to stay further still and of interest if suited by Polytrack.

Unraced third foal by Dark Angel out of Siren's Gift (a useful 5F winner as a juvenile). Half-brother to 5F to 6F winner Merdon Castle, so hailing from a family that this trainer knows well, commands respect on debut.

Horse silk
Yaafour
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: S M Levey| T: R Hannon
12/1
Unraced fourth foal by Poet's Voice out of Whatizzit. Cost 42,000 gns as a yearling, so this half-brother to Dreamscape should be noted for market confidence on debut.

Very well bred filly by Dubawi out of Barshiba. A full-sister to Arabian Queen, and a half-sister to Australian Queen she was possibly just a fraction disappointing on debut when seventh of nine to Glorious Journey at Newmarket (6f good). Might need a longer trip to be seen at her best, but one to note.

Horse silk

From a yard not renowned for their juvenile winners and her form so far has looked modest with her failing to improve from her Nottingham debut last time on Tapeta at Wolverhampton.

Forecasts

Makanah (15/8), Mearing (10/3), Cosmopolitan Queen (9/2), Encrypted (11/2), Rebel Streak (9/1), Yaafour (12/1), Pheidippides (16/1), Shania Says (25/1), El Borracho (33/1), Final Rock (50/1), Hornby (66/1)

18:40 Kempton - 28 June 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

The Jeff Smith owned pair Rebel Streak and Cosmopolitan Queen are horses to track with regards winning future races, but a couple of the other runners have either more experience, or have shown more so far. Makanah was unable to fulfil his York debut promise when turned over at short odds at Wolverhampton recently, so whilst respected, it should pay to focus upon MEARING. This once raced colt showed plenty of ability at Wetherby, but more importantly looked to have plenty of room for improvement in the locker. He'll be seen to full effect as he's upped in trip, starting tonight over 6F.
