Has been tried at 1m4f-2m in six fruitless starts this term, doing best over 1m6½f at Doncaster (good to firm) last month. Now 8lb lower than when scoring over 1m2f at Pontefract in September and dropped in grade, he should have a say here.

Her sole win to date was last month on the All Weather at Wolverhampton (1m4f) froma a mark of 63. Hasn't had many tries on turf, though appeared okay on fast ground on her only try, though has a bit to prove from this mark and on this surface.

All four wins have been from 1m-1m2f, three of them being at Pontefract, though none since 2015. Stays this far and has slipped to a very handy mark, so could do much better than when well beaten in his two starts so far this season. Market check very much advised.

Won this last year (good) from a 7lb lower mark and came back and won over 1m2f later in the campaign from just 2lb lower. Showing signs of a resurgence in recent outings and looks one of the more likely winners again today.

Has been kept busy since December and has put in some reasonable efforts from a 1lb higher mark without ever really threatening to add to his Wolverhampton success (1m4f, AW) from January. Others preferred.

Races from the same mark as when beaten just ½L at Nottingham (1m2f, good to firm) last time out and has plenty of form to suggest that she ought to be able to win a race like this, but she has not been able to do that since her debut way back in 2014 and she may just find one or two too good again.

At his best at Southwell and has just the one turf win to his name from 17 such attempts (Leicester, 7f, good to firm) back in 2015. Stamina will be tested to the full here and clearly not as good on the green stuff as he is on the Fibresand. Others preferred.

Druid's Diamond24
Age: 4|  Weight: 8-2| J: Nathan Evans(3)| T: M Walford| OR:  49
9/2
Majority of his pedigree suggests that this will be too far, though he is a half-brother to one winner over it, so not a complete forlorn hope that he will stay. Certainly down to a very workable mark now and not many miles on the clock, so if he can see if out he could go very well at a price.

Forecasts

Mysterial (9/4), Druid's Diamond (9/2), Tred Softly (11/2), Cool Music (6/1), Lean On Pete (7/1), Pour L'Amour (8/1), Correggio (12/1), Stun Gun (20/1)

15:00 Beverley - 27 June 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Not a lot of strength in depth here and Lean On Pete must have decent claims of repeating last year's win from 7lb higher, though he is yet to win on ground faster than good. Mysterial could do better for this drop in grade, while Correggio is on a very handy mark and should be checked in the market. Cool Music should be thereabouts too, but the suggestion here is an each-way play at a price on DRUID'S DIAMOND. Mark Walford's Flat string has been enjoying a good time of it this season and this gelding is unexposed at this trip, which his races have suggested he will probably see out, while he is also on what looks to be a mark that can prove productive.
  1. Druid's Diamond
  2. Lean On Pete
  3. Correggio
