Gelded son of Dubawi. First foal of an unraced mare who's a full-sister to Group 1 winning sprinter Arcano. Owner's second string on debut in a race that developed into a 2f sprint. Lost his place when the pace quickened but was getting the grasp of things close home. Sure to improve greatly for the experience and yard 4-17 with this age group here.

Wore a hood on debut before finishing last on debut in a bad race at Catterick. Even allowing for the ground, it was hard to find anything positive in the performance.

Proving frustrating to follow having been narrowly denied on his first two starts. It is possible those efforts have left a psychological mark as he has not found as much in a finish since. Rates the clear pick on form but his profile is unattractive. Stable took this in 2015.

Bred for speed being by Monsieur Bond out of that good sprinting mare Caranbola who won nine races for the Brittain family. Ran better than his final position suggests on debut but still has plenty to find to trouble the principals in this.

Gelded son of Acclamation purchased for £3,200 in January. Dam a 1m winner on the AW and a close relative of 1000 Guineas winner Lahan. Easy to back on debut but belied odds of 50/1 by staying on to take third. That form leaves him with a lot to find in this but it gives the trainer a solid base to build on.

Has gone off at big prices on both starts. Only beat one home last time and faces another tough day at the office.

Forecasts

Akdaar (4/5), Hydroxide (5/4), Pretty Passe (3/1), Summerghand (5/1), Raselasad (12/1), Oriental Lilly (25/1), Dandys Denouement (100/1), Ninedarter (100/1)

17:10 Thirsk - 20 June 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Hydroxide looks the clear pick on form but having become expensive to follow it may be safer to look elsewhere. Pretty Passe represents a trainer/jockey combination that are hard to ignore and Summerghand is an expensive purchase for this yard who shaped well on his debut in a race that has worked out since. That still proved to be a weaker event than AKDAAR contested on his debut in which he looked green when the pace suddenly increased before getting the hang of things in the closing stages. He would have little to find on that to be up to the standard required to win a race such as this.
  1. Akdaar
  2. Pretty Passe
  3. Hydroxide
