Classically bred colt has begun to fulfil his potential in typical Prescott style. Effectively just 2lb here for his Haydock romp in a boy's race on Thursday and he is potentially much further ahead of the handicapper than that. Up in trip but certainly shapes as though he will stay and this looks another good piece of placing by the yard.

Age: 10|  Weight: 9-7| J: D Nolan| T: J Candlish| OR:  74| CD
25/1
Veteran of 78 races including 13 victories, four of which have come here. Remains 4lb higher than a C&D success in April 2016 and his reappearance suggests he is not the force he was.

Made all to score over hurdles during the winter and similar tactics adopted at Kempton three weeks ago when lack of a run told close home. Down in trip and grade for this and appears to be improving. Should get an easy lead and his opponents would be wise not to let him get too far in front.

Improved effort at Ripon two weeks ago and the second and third have won since. Tends to come to hand late June/July and is now 2lb lower than his last success. This is not a lucky track for the trainer and jockey as indicated by a 2-32 strike rate, but there is still a lot going for him.

14/1
Four-time C&D winner who has made the frame here on his last two starts off this mark. Probably needs to come down the weights as he is probably not as good now as the handicapper remembers.

10-68 record but last victory came in 2012. Last of six on his return and he appears to have found himself in a particularly good race for this grade.

LUGANO looks the sort of progressive handicapper that it pays to follow from this stable. Having escaped a penalty for his success at Haydock last week in an apprentices race the only question is one of stamina given his dam's influence. Tyrell could set out to make all and, dropping marginally in trip, he would have an opportunity to poach the sort of lead that can make you hard to catch around here. Ingleby Hollow can be expected to start showing something at this time of year and his handicap mark looks far more attractive than it does for Perfect Summer, Hallstatt and Maoi Chinn Tire.
