Still a maiden after five attempts the blinkers go on for the first time as he steps up in distance after two handicap runs over shorter (1m2f). Still looked very green and far from the finished article on handicap debut and struggled badly last time out. Looks capable of better but slightly risky proposition here on the back of that last run.

After three runs over shorter as a two-year-old (only showed fair form) he stated to show something more like his true ability on handicap debut at Yarmouth over 1m2f. Only gave best to one on a good mark and with a fitness edge on that run and on the evidence of that run looks sure to be suited by the extra distance here and has a leading chance.

Makes his handicap debut (the only one in this field to do so) and looked to be suited by the 1m2f on his reappearance at Newcastle after six months off. Started at 50/1 on that occasion and although he was beaten 16L by a long-odds on shot there was promise in the end product he should show more in handicaps.

Done all his running on AW surfaces so far and has been upped in trip for his two runs in handicaps so far both at Wolverhampton. His first run in handicaps showed some promise but his attitude last time out left a lot to be desired (hanging badly) and a repeat of that would make him of little interest here.

Lightly-raced sort who only made his debut this year and after three runs in AW maidens made his turf/handicap debut last time over 1m1f here. Showed a little to work on there but looked to need further (has already run over 1m4f in a maiden) ,and may find one or two of these slightly more progressive.

There are a couple of interesting types in this that may well be able capable of better in future races in the shape of Elite Icon and Midnight Blue although the duo might not be up to winning this today and coping with one with the progressive nature in the shape of SOLO MISSION. He looks the one here capable of evolving the most and may well still be on a good mark despite the 7lb rise for finishing second last time out. Given his connections Powerful Love has to be respected although he’ll need to bounce back from a poor run last time out.
