Won two of his four previous chases and looks to be a class above this lot at this stage. Very much the one to beat now he has banished the memory of his fall in the Grade 1 Ryanair Chase at Punchestown.
7l adrift of Townshend, who won easily at Punchestown last month. Hard to see that form being reversed on what will be his first start on heavy ground since his point-top-point days.
Grade 2 winner over hurdles and has a touch of class about him. Interesting to see how he copes pitched in against stiff company but respected on chasing debut.
Currently rated 125 over hurdles so would have a good bit to find if that could be taken as a reliable gauge now he switches to fences. An interesting contender if he adapts, however, as he has already done well for his up and coming young trainer. Probably best to just take note this time around but he is a decent prospect whatever happens here.
Another that brings plenty of potential to the table - his effort to finish second in the Four-Year-Old hurdle at Punchestown is arguably every bit as good as the one he posted to finish fifth in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham. Needs to prove he can clear a fence in public but he is certainly stacked with plenty of options and, with his age allowance creating a handy pull at the weights, he is entitled to plenty of respect despite his lack of chasing experience.

TOWNSHEND is very much the one to beat and it will be surprising if either Potters Point or Definite Earl can reverse the Punchestown form now that Willie Mulins' gelding has proved his jumping can stand up to scrutiny. Landofhopeandglory faces a tough introduction to the larger obstacles but it's early days for him and he can be viewed with an eye to the future on this occasion.
