Capable of good form on his day, and took an Open at Friars Haugh back in January. Not so good since, but in calmer waters here, and with trip and ground likely to suit, can't be discounted in an open race.

Outclassed at Cheltenham two starts back but right back to form when an easy winner at Garthorpe on latest start. Can finish with a rattle when on song and if leaders go off too quickly, will be picking them up late. Handles some cut.

Bound For Gloryt22

Won a Ladies Open at Cottenham in November, so can produce the goods when on a going day, but couldn't lay a glove on Never Complain at Fontwell last time out and was well beaten the time before too. Needs to bounce back to best.

Second to Oh Toodles in an Open at Horseheath before easily taking a Members contest at Mollington latest. Clearly in good heart and likely conditions fine, but that form needs a step forward to get competitive here. Drop back in trip a likely plus, though.

Won a three-runner Open at Paxford in April but that was only a modest event, and he never looked happy at Worcester on latest start, having to be pushed along some way out. Others make more appeal.

In terrific form at present and has won last three Opens (one awarded in the Stewards Room). Had the useful Aikideau behind him latest and that form puts him right in the firing line here. May not want the ground too soft but that apart, a leading contender.

Molten Brownp12
Age: 12|  Weight: 11-7| J: Miss J Walton(3)| T: Tony Hogarth| OR:  97

Stays well and has won a small Ladies Open at Tranwell this year, but form under Rules less impressive and was well beaten at Kelso last time. Makes little appeal.

Fourth in this last year (behind Popaway) when jumping lacked a bit of fluency, but in fine form at present and rattled off the hat-trick at Chaddesley Corbett latest. May not want much more rain but solid chances if it stays away.

Grand servant to connections over the years, and second in this last year. This trip probably suits better than further, and she found the watered ground too much to handle at Cheltenham last time, so is forgiven that. On earlier form, every chance of success if ground not too deep.

Dabinett Moon25
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-0| J: Mrs C Hardwick(3)| T: Mrs F J Marriott| OR:  98| CD
11/2
Stays well and was actually in front of Popaway at Cheltenham, but work to do if she's to maintain those placings here. Another solid effort at Towcester latest and may go well without being quite good enough.

Forecasts

Patricktom Boru (5/2), Popaway (3/1), Dabinett Moon (11/2), Bound For Glory (8/1), Midnight Appeal (8/1), Beggar's Velvet (9/1), Invisible Man (16/1), Celtic Silver (20/1), Damiens Dilemma (33/1), Molten Brown (50/1)

19:15 Stratford - 9 June 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

The ever-popular Popaway was found to be wrong after her latest effort at Cheltenham, and the ground wouldn't have helped her cause either, so she's excused that. If back to her best, she might take the beating, but both Patricktom Boru and CELTIC SILVER are improving and might be able to take another step forward tonight. Celtic Silver gets the vote as she has the services of the excellent Gina Andrews to help, and this trip should be ideal.
  1. Celtic Silver
  2. Patricktom Boru
  3. Popaway
